Chapter 77: The End
Aiden’s POV
“Man, you shouldn’t be so nervous during your mate’s coronation,” Ethan teased with a lopsided smile as he entered my room.
I can’t help myself.
After I marked Irina, everyone in the pack knew she was my mate. I have to say… I have many regrets. Because of how I treated her, many people think they can talk about her behind her
back or make mean comments.
I had to banish three pack members because they tried to attack Irina, but even after that… I know some people continue to be mean to her.
The only thing that changed is that they don’t do it so openly anymore out of fear.
I sighed heavily. “I want this day to be perfect, but I’m scared someone might ruin it.”
Ethan snorted. “Who? I know there are many assholes around, but nobody would dare to say anything to Irina after today. Besides, I can tell she will be a great Luna.”
“If she decides not to leave me,” I mumble.
“She won’t,” Arlo assured. “You were an ass, but Irina and her wolf love us.”
“Was the insult necessary?” I questioned, but all Arlo did was hum.
He was telling me I deserved it.
Ethan adjusted my tie. “Aiden, she loves you. I know the pack hasn’t exactly… welcomed her,” I winced. That was my fault. “But a Luna is like a mother to a pack. Everyone will see how capable Irina is. All you need to do is show them how much you love her, and soon they’ll accept her.”
I sighed heavily.
“And if that doesn’t happen, I’m sure Derek would gladly take Irina as his chosen mate.”
I growled lowly, and it shook the room. “Shut up.”
He chuckled. “That’s all you need to do; if the pack sees you react like that, they will know how much you love her.”
I gave him a blank look. “That wasn’t necessary.”

Ethan only shrugged, thoroughly unbothered. “Oh, it was absolutely necessary. You needed the reminder.” He smirked. “And honestly? It was funny.”
I glared at him. Of course, he found it funny.
Since Irina arrived, he has been bugging me nonstop. He knows I won’t react like I did before. My Luna has calmed me down.
My mate.
My Luna.
My Irina.
If I hadn’t done what I did, the pack would have accepted her by now…
Anyway, I couldn’t go back in time. Ethan was right. Once the pack saw how much I loved Irina, they would change.
Ethan’s eyes glazed. “It’s time,” he said after they cleared. “All the guests have arrived, they are waiting for you so our Luna can come out.”
I took a deep breath to steady myself and finally left the room.
The moment we reached the massive double doors leading outside, I could already hear the
murmurs of the gathered pack.
We decided to hold Luna’s ceremony outside so everybody could attend.
The doors opened.
The outside ceremony grounds were breathtaking. Debbie and Irina had planned everything, and I was amazed by the results-huge archways draped in white and silver fabric, lanterns hanging around the courtyard, white roses and lilies as centerpieces.
I immediately recognized a few faces. Derek, Kael, and Kratos all sat together. Derek was looking around, and for some reason, that made me angry.
“He is looking for Irina.”
“He’d better not if he wants to live,” I grumbled back.
“If you are glaring at Derek, I suggest you stop. Kael told me he has been acting strange since meeting with a maid,” Ethan whispered.
Hmm… Did he meet his mate?

Anyway, that was not my problem. If she were a maid from my pack, only she had the right to choose if she wanted to go with Derek or not.
I continued walking and noticed some of my pack members… didn’t look thrilled at all.
My jaw tightened.
A few eyes landed on me, their expressions shifted, others tried to hide their disdain, but to
no avail.
I had already seen it.
And I’ll make sure they understand that if they ever look at Irina that way, I would gouge their eyes out.
Yes, this would end today.
The new Elder, the one who replaced Harden, gave me a respectful nod from the platform, waiting for me to approach. I’m still wary of the Elders, after everything that happened. How
could I not be?
Still, this Elder hasn’t done anything to make me not trust him, so I allowed him to preside
over this event.
Ethan shot me a quick look, silently telling me to keep my cool. I forced myself to breathe evenly, even though irritation simmered beneath my skin.
I took my place on the raised stage, the center of everyone’s attention. The ceremony grounds hushed almost instantly.
“Today,” he began, “we gather not only as individuals, not only as warriors or families, but as a pack.”
His tone deepened, resonating through the courtyard. “A pack is more than blood, more than territory, more than power. It is unity. It is loyalty. It is trust. It is the bond that allows us to stand as one body, one heart, one strength against all who would seek to harm us.”
A few heads bowed respectfully. Others-those who didn’t want to be here-still forced themselves into stillness. Good. They’d better listen.
The Elder continued. “A pack thrives when it honors its leaders. And leaders thrive when they honor their pack. An Alpha is the protector-the shield and the sword. He must be firm when needed, soft when necessary, and willing to bleed for those who call him their own.”
His eyes flicked to me briefly, and I held his gaze.

“But an Alpha alone is not enough.”
The crowd leaned in.
Claim
“A Luna,” he said reverently, “is the soul of the pack. She embodies compassion, intuition, and wisdom. Through her, the pack finds balance. Through her, the Alpha finds clarity. A Luna guides not only with strength, but with heart. She is a healer, a guardian, a mother, a warrior in her own right.”
Right on cue, the Elder paused.
His voice softened. “And today, we honor the woman who will carry that mantle. A woman destined to lead alongside her mate. A woman chosen by the Moon Goddess herself.”
He turned toward the large double doors.
“As tradition dictates… our Luna enters now.”
The doors swung open.
My breath got caught in my throat.
Irina stepped out, and I swear, I felt as if an angel had descended from the heavens. Her dress was white, shimmering under the light with thousands of tiny sparkles. It clung to her gracefully, highlighting every single curve.
It was driving me wild.
My heart slammed hard, painfully, against my ribs.
“Mate…” Arlo whispered.
Every single person turned to look at her. Some gasped. Some went silent. Some had the audacity to look displeased-but even they couldn’t deny what they were seeing.
Irina wasn’t just beautiful. She was powerful. Perfect.
My mate. My Luna.
And the most dangerous, primal part of me wanted to throw her over my shoulder, claim her
in front of everyone, and snarl at anyone who dared blink too long in her direction.
But I forced myself still.
Because this moment was hers.
She met my eyes from across the courtyard.

And she smiled.
Soft. Sweet. Confident.
My knees almost buckled.
Irina continued walking until she was right by my side.

“I present to you, Irina Harlow Lewis,” I glanced at Irina. She told me she finally knew her parents’ last name, but wouldn’t tell me until the ceremony. Now I know why. “As tradition dictates, we shall begin with the Luna’s vows.”
Irina’s fingers brushed mine gently.
The Elder turned to her. “Irina,” he said, reverent, “do you stand before Shadow Pack with the willingness to protect them, guide them, and lead them with the strength and compassion of
a Luna?”
Irina lifted her chin, eyes steady. “I do.”
A ripple went through the crowd. Some shocked. Some unsure. Some moved.
The Elder continued, “And do you accept Aiden Keaton as your mate and your Alpha, to stand at his side as he stands at yours?”
“I accept him. Fully.”
My heart squeezed so hard it hurt.
“Then let the binding of Luna commence,” the Elder declared.
I took the knife offered to me, sliced cleanly across my palm, and let my blood pool into the goblet. Irina accepted the cup without trembling. Her eyes met mine. And she drank.
“Do you, Alpha Aiden, accept Irina Harlow Lewis as your mate and Luna?” The Elder asked.
“I do,” I replied.
I wanted to say something else, but her connection to the pack snapped in place, almost knocking me over.
Everyone, and I mean every single pack member, felt it too.
Some gasped-audibly-as they realized she wasn’t the weak, broken omega they had assumed her to be… She wasn’t frail. She wasn’t powerless.
We still haven’t told them Irina is actually an Enigma, and perhaps we will later. That’s

something Irina will decide.
I stepped forward, voice louder now, empowered with Alpha command. “Welcome,” I declared, with absolute pride, “Irina Keaton-my mate, my Luna-into this pack.”

Cheers erupted. Some shouted in joy. Some clapped. Some stood frozen, stunned that their Luna was far from the fragile thing they had imagined.
The Elder waited until the cheers and applause hushed to continue. “From today onward, Irina and Keaton are one. I present you, your Alpha, and your Luna, the leaders of Shadow-”
“I object!”
