In the evening, an urgent call dragged me back to the Richardson Villa. Filled with dread about Louisa’s well-being, I rushed home in a flurry of anxiety.
Stepping into the grand hall, I was met with a heavy atmosphere. Louisa and Grace sat upright in the main seats, their faces as grim as a winter sky. The intense pressure they emanated made it difficult to draw a full breath.
“What on earth is happening?” I managed to ask, forcing a calm tone through my unease.
Grace responded with a sneering laugh and tossed a report onto the coffee table in front of me.
I picked it up, and my face paled instantly. “Mom! Who sent this?”
“The sender’s unknown, but the report’s real,” Grace replied coldly.
Louisa sat there, eyes closed, as if I were too filthy to look at. Her silence was a weight on my chest.
“This is a fake! Nathan’s an orphan I adopted. There’s no way he’s related to Aaliyah. Maybe it’s a business rival trying to cause chaos in the pack,” I argued.
“Who else would know about your affair with Aaliyah? Even your relationship with Natalie is hardly public. If a rival wanted to hurt you, they’d make a big deal out of it, not play these sneaky games,” Grace retorted sharply.
“Mom, this can’t be real…” I still kept trying to deny it.
“Can’t be real? Call Aaliyah here, and we’ll do another Ancestral Tracking. Or are you covering up for her? Have you been keeping tabs on her and her kid all this time?” Grace’s words were like venom.
Grace’s POV:
I’d been struggling to control my anger, but I couldn’t hold it back any longer.
Landon was such a great kid in every way, but he was so blind when it came to Aaliyah. What did that older woman have that made him so obsessed, even after she’d had a child?
“I swear on my wolf-self, Aaliyah and Nathan aren’t related!” I heard Landon yell.
But his outburst only revealed his panic.
I knew my son well; that was how he acted when he was guilty.
“Swear on what?!” I shouted, “Landon! If you’re so certain, swear on Aaliyah and Nathan’s lives to the Moon Goddess. If they’re mother and son, let them waste away and die!”
“Mom! Stop it!” Landon’s face darkened with rage as he shouted at me.

His reaction was all the proof we needed.
Louisa let out a mocking laugh and raised her hand to quiet me.

Louisa commanded, “Landon, you’ve got a week to deal with that woman. Tell her to leave the country and never come back to Maritime City. Otherwise…”
A fierce glint flashed in Louisa’s eyes. “She’ll lose all rights to see her son.”
Landon’s
eyes
widened in shock. “You took Nathan?” He quickly reached for his phone to call the caregiver.
My cold voice sliced through the tense air. “Relax. Once Aaliyah gets out of the country, I’ll send Nathan to her in a year. I’m not interested in raising her pup.
“Yet, if she keeps hounding you, Nathan’ll vanish where she’ll never sniff him out. And mark my words, the Cooper family will face Thorn Pack’s relentless vengeance!”
Landon, his face a storm of emotions, burst out, “Grandma! I swear I’ll cut ties with Aaliyah. But Nathan’s just a kid, innocent as they come. You can’t do this to him.”
Louisa, her eyes steely, retorted, “It’s a done deal. No point arguing. Thorn Pack’s rep can’t be sullied by an iffy Omega and a pup with a shady bloodline. You sort it out.”
With that, she rose, supported by a servant, and swept out of the room
Landon whirled to me, desperation in his voice. “Mom, where’d you stash Nathan?”
I shrugged, feigning nonchalance. “Beats me. It was your grandma’s doing. And even if I knew, I wouldn’t spill. Want to see the kid? Do as your grandma says.”
As I watched my son’s distress, a pang of maternal ache mixed with my frustration. How could my
outstanding son be so bewitched by that older woman? Raising her kid and getting attached? It was beyond
