After a short pause, he added, “They reckon I acted too rashly and that you got the short end of the stick. They’ve told me to make amends properly. As for Moon-Shadowed Pack…” His eyes met mine, assessing. “I figure we ought to make the official announcement on a grander occasion. Considering how complex your ties with the pack are, we need a moment to set the record straight for you.
“Next up will be a proper public bash… and this time, it’ll be top-notch.”
Knowing he’d got everything sorted and thought so thoroughly about me, I finally let out a sigh of relief.
Just then, as if timed perfectly, Fiona’s call rang through.
“Natalie, dear.” Fiona’s voice was laced with hesitant delight and a bit of remorse. “That stubborn grandson of mine is so headstrong! He just whisked you off to get bonded without a shred of preparation. I hope you’re not miffed, darling?”
Fiona’s kind words made my heart flutter and my cheeks redden. “No, I’m over the moon,” I said, so shy. that I couldn’t even look at Leonardo driving beside me, my voice barely audible.
“Oh, you’re such a gem! You’re the best thing that could’ve happened to that boy!” Fiona’s voice perked up instantly. “Natalie, come back to the Sanchez Estate tonight, won’t you? It’s his birthday, and you two just got bonded… We gotta have a proper family celebration! I’ve made up a cozy room for you lovebirds!”
Fiona’s straightforward warmth made my face burn. I snuck a peek at Leonardo. He was focused on the road, but there was a tender smile playing on his lips.
He simply reached over, took the phone, and said in a surprisingly gentle tone, “Grandma, don’t give her a fright. We’re on our way back.”
“Great! Drive safe, you two!” Fiona’s voice was brimming with glee
Leonardo handed the phone back to me, and I instinctively asked, “We’re staying at your home tonight?”,
“Our home,” Leonardo corrected softly.
My heart skipped a beat. Yes, his home was now ours.
“Grandma was just pulling your leg. If you’d rather not stay, I’ll drop you off at your apartment,” he added, giving me the freedom to choose.
“No need. Let’s go home,” I mumbled, curling my fingers slightly.
As night settled in, when we pulled into the driveway of the stately estate, there were servants lined up at the entrance. Fiona had left nothing to chance. The moment the car stopped, they rushed forward, opening the doors and taking our shopping bags, treating us like royalty.
Inside, the estate was a sight to behold. Silver streamers, symbols of good fortune and festivity, were strung everywhere. There were also decorative pieces adorned with Moonlit Stones, and soft-glowing

lanterns that bathed the place in a warm, inviting glow. The whole atmosphere was filled with warmth, joy, and celebration.
. Fiona and Roger were dressed to the nines in elegant, embroidered evening gowns, sitting in the living
room, their faces alight with anticipation as they waited for us.
This whole display of ceremony and family love made me feel like I’d finally found my place. I was no longer alone; I had a real, loving family. It was worlds apart from my past fake relationship with Landon, which was nothing but a sham bond and had no one’s approval or well-wishes.
“From today on, Natalie, you’re an official member of our family!” Fiona exclaimed, rising to her feet excitedly. She grabbed my hand, her eyes glistening with emotion. “I’m so happy! You can rest assured. I’ll spoil you like my own granddaughter from now on.”
As I saw the moisture in Fiona’s eyes and the unhidden contentment in Roger’s, my own eyes welled up with tears. I stepped forward and gently embraced Fiona. “I’m the lucky one. Becoming part of your family and receiving your love and acceptance, I’m truly happy. I’ll take good care of you both from now on,” I said, my voice thick with emotion.
I’d always yearned for a real home, a warm and loving one. And now, it seemed within reach.
I could sense Leonardo beside me. His usually stoic demeanor showed a slight shift. Though he was always reserved, when he saw me getting along so well with his family, a flicker of emotion crossed his deep-set
eyes.
Leonardo interjected at the right moment, his voice deeper and softer than usual, breaking the overly emotional mood. “Alright, Natalie brought a birthday cake. Wanna give it a try?” He placed the large cake we’d bought from the dessert store before coming home on the center table in the living room.
Fiona and Roger were overjoyed at the sight. They immediately told the servants to get plates and drinks ready. Fiona whispered to me that Leonardo never used to celebrate his birthday. In the past, if someone brought a cake, he’d just give them a cold look or might even fly into a rage. But now, because of me, he not only accepted it but also shared it with the family. This small change meant the world to them.
