Chapter 206 Public Welfare Observer
Natalie’s POV:
“Don’t. Your work is important,” I said, pushing down my reluctance and looking up at him.
“Worst case, I’ll quit being the Alpha of Silver-Maned Pack. You can support me,” Leonardo teased, though his handsome face stayed impassive. Only a faint softness flickered deep in his eyes.
I knew he was joking, but I looked at him seriously and said, “I could do that.”
Leonardo chuckled, a low rumble in his chest. His low, husky voice held a trace of gentle warmth. “Natalie,” he said, “I’m going to miss you, too.”
The car fell quiet, filled only with the sound of our breaths mingling and our hearts beating in sync. I leaned in and kissed his cool lips. The kiss was light, full of longing-a gentle press and pull that was captivating yet restrained.
The car stopped smoothly at the VIP entrance. Aaron got out first to wait. Only then did Leonardo gently let me go. He cupped my face, his thumb stroking my cheek, his gaze s deep it felt like it could see straight into my soul
“Go on in,” I urged, fighting the sting in my nose and giving him another little push. “Let me know when you land safely.”
“Or… you could come with me?” He still couldn’t let go, taking my hand again. His tone was more serious than ever.
Looking at his utterly sincere expression, a wave of warmth and impulse washed over me, nearly overwhelming my reason. But in the end, that last shred of sense won out. We were really being way too clingy.
“Stop it. You’re going for serious business,” I said with a sigh. “And I’ve got a ton of stuff to handle here-the Moon-Shadowed Pack, the Thorn Pack… I can’t just drop everything and leave.”
“You could handle your work remotely,” he suggested softly, still trying to find a way to bring me along.
Seeing him get more serious, I covered his hand on his knee, my fingertip tracing the band of his expensive watch. “Really, I can’t. I just took on a major project and have a client meeting tomorrow. If you keep this up, I really will be swayed.”
I softened my voice, adding a pleading note. “Bu next time you travel for work, Alpha Leonardo, give me some advance notice. I could try to clear my schedule. Being your t could work.”
“I could never have my Luna be an assistant, he murmured in my ear, his warm breath sending a shiver down my spine. It sounded like flirting. But seeing the genuine look in my eyes, he sighed in surrender.
“Remember, three times a day.” He took my hand and pressed another light, almost
ceremonial kiss to its back. “Morning, noon, and night. Otherwise, I’ll change my ticket right now and take you with me.”
