With Landon and Benjamin removed, I began restructuring the company’s core leadership. The Richardson Group was a typical werewolf family business, and its executives were almost all the Richardson family’s relatives or Benjamin’s handpicked insiders. Their roots ran deep, but their loyalty and skills left much to be desired-they were loyal only to the Richardson family.

What I needed were werewolves who could truly serve the company-regardless of bloodline or rank, only ability mattered.

The newly appointed interim CEO was a Beta I personally selected-highly capable and with no old ties to the Richardson family. For now, he would oversee all operations, working with regulatory authorities to audit the company’s projects, close loopholes, and steer the business in a new direction.

As for the IPO plans… I didn’t bring it up, and no one in the boardroom dared to ask. They were probably afraid I’d run the company into the ground just to get back at the Richardson family.

But I had my own plans. I’d built the core operations of the Richardson Group myself, and many of its employees were innocent in all this.

Once I fully secured the company as my own, I would prepare for the IPO.

From now on, the Richardson Group would have nothing to do with the Thorn Pack-not until the Richardson family was left with nothing.

Leaving the Richardson Group building, I could feel countless eyes on my back. Their gazes were full of wariness and fear. I knew why. The news had spread across werewolf social circles. To outsiders, Landon was scum, but my revenge was just as chilling. A low-ranking mixed-blood Beta had taken down a top Alpha family. And my actions had reshaped the futures of everyone tied to the Richardson Group.

I straightened my spine, keeping my posture flawless. But somewhere deep inside, something ached.

It wasn’t regret. I never regretted fighting back against those who hurt me.

But once revenge was no longer my obsession, I was left facing the person I turned into

because of it.

Back at my apartment that evening, the first thing I did was make a video call to Leonardo. I’d been swamped all day, only managing a brief text in the morning saying I might not keep our “three calls a day” promise.

The call didn’t connect right away. Thinking he might still be busy, I set my phone down and headed to the kitchen to boil some instant pasta. There was plenty of good food at home, and Fiona often brought me high-end meals. But sometimes, I just craved that artificial, processed flavor.

Just as the pasta was ready, Leonardo’s video call came through.

I answered and propped the phone on the kitchen counter, bringing the pasta over. On screen, Leonardo had just returned to his hotel room. In the background, I could hear Aaron quietly wrapping up some matters.

“Sorry, I was in the elevator.” Leonardo’s voice came through, steady as ever.

I smiled, “It’s fine. Next time, don’t rush. You can call me back once you’re settled in.”

As I spoke, I leaned closer to the screen, studying him. Even under the harsh front-facing camera light, Leonardo’s features remained sharp-the high bridge of his nose, deep-set eyes, the slight movement of his throat as he spoke. His werewolf blood gave him a primal, aggressively handsome look. Even through a screen, you could feel the dominating presence of an Alpha.

“Why are you staring like that?” he asked, setting his phone down on a table to keep it steady.

“Just checking,” I said softly, not looking away. “Making sure you’re not working yourself to death. Seeing if you’re tired.”

Leonardo let out a chuckle and leaned closer to the camera, letting me see his face more clearly. Those deep-set eyes of a top Alpha now held only my reflection. Even through the screen, I could almost feel his breath and heartbeat.

“I’m not tired,” he said.

But I could tell. There were faint shadows under his eyes. It was barely noticeable, but I knew how hard he pushed himself. Without thinking, reached out and touched the cold screen where the corner of his eye would be, as if I could really reach through and feel his warmth.

“Natalie,” he murmured, something in his voice softening.

I pulled my hand back and settled into my chair stirring the pasta on my plate. “Good. You don’t look too worn out. Aaron must be making sure you rest.”
