Sabrina had initially assumed Bella still had plenty of money, only to discover later that Debbie had scammed her out of everything.
No wonder Bella had resorted to approaching that old pervert. If Debbie hadn't stolen her funds, she never would have subjected herself to that humiliation, nor would she have been exposed online and had her reputation destroyed.
Looking back, it was all Debbie's fault. Without her, none of this nightmare would have happened.
Sabrina was heavily burdened by the reality that Bella's financial situation was now in ruins.
And tragically, she couldn't offer any help.
She had no money of her own!
"Let me make this perfectly clear," Sabrina hissed. "I don't care how you do it, but you better pay back every single cent you owe my daughter immediately.
Otherwise, what you went through today won't even be the worst of it. I guarantee you'll suffer ten times more.
I'll be the first in line to make sure of it."
"Who... who the hell do you think you are?" Debbie wheezed. "Over the years, plenty of people have wanted me dead... You think you're special?
People far more powerful than you have tried to kill me... and I'm still breathing.
You? You think you have what it takes to kill me?
Go ahead. Do it. Kill me and let's see if my son decides to avenge his mother."
Sabrina was momentarily stunned by the threat.
It was true. The Mercer family was nowhere near as powerful as the Blake family. Even though Sebastian despised his mother, she was still the woman who gave birth to him.
Besides, Sabrina was only blowing off steam. Bella kept Debbie alive because she still had major use for her.
Once she finished forcing the food down, Sabrina tossed some anti-swelling ointment onto the bed. She didn't bother applying it, leaving it there for Debbie to use or ignore as she pleased.
"I'm leaving. I'm not sitting here playing nursemaid all day. You've eaten, and there are some leftovers. Eat them tonight or don't, you won't starve to death either way.
I don't have time to waste on you. If a woman like you starves, you'll have brought it entirely upon yourself."
With that, Sabrina grabbed her purse and stormed out.
Seeing Debbie in such a pathetic state had surprisingly lifted her spirits.
Every previous encounter with Debbie had ended with Sabrina nearly dying of anger from the woman's toxic mouth.
This time was different. Seeing her utterly broken and humiliated filled Sabrina with an indescribable sense of satisfaction.
She knew her daughter well. There was absolutely no way Bella would take a beating from a bitch like Debbie without retaliating tenfold!
