"You... if the red envelopes aren't extremely thick, I am never forgiving you two for this."
Right on cue, Martha seemingly appeared out of nowhere. She reached into a clear plastic bag and pulled out a comically thick red envelope, shoving it into Ethan's hands. "Mr. and Mrs. Prescott specifically instructed me to give this one to you."
Martha had just finished handing out bonuses to the staff inside the building.
Ethan weighed the envelope in his hand. After a quick glance inside the bag, he realized his was undeniably the thickest. A massive grin split his face.
"Thank you, Bosses! I pledge my absolute loyalty and will work myself to the bone for you both!"
Leonard jokingly kicked him in the shin. "Start putting some effort into your own love life. Being a bachelor isn't a personality trait.
You know exactly what your role is in the family now. You're young—find a partner and have some kids. Otherwise, who is going to inherit everything you're building?"
Ethan hadn't expected to get a lecture the moment he secured his bonus. He suddenly felt like he was losing the upper hand.
"You can't force romance, Boss.
It's not that I don't want to get married; I just want to wait a bit longer.
We have so much going on right now. Once things settle down, I'll hire more executives to help out. When I actually have free time, I'll start dating.
Don't worry about me."
With Ethan's reassurance, Leonard dropped the subject.
As long as Ethan wasn't planning to stay single forever, Leonard was satisfied.
Ethan was practically a branch of the Prescott family, and an incredibly vital one at that.
Leonard had massive expectations for him in the future.
Ethan couldn't remain a lone wolf forever; certain empires needed to be passed down.
They returned to the newly renovated villa located right next to the lab in Britannia. Leonard and Lillian handed out bonuses to the entire staff.
