It was always the capable ones whose skills and triumphs people remembered.
Bella bounced back with astonishing speed. The moment the product announcement went live, she was operating at full throttle once more.
Just as Lillian had observed, she truly was as unkillable as a cockroach.
People with that kind of relentless drive usually managed to succeed at whatever they set their minds to.
But whether Bella would actually triumph this time depended entirely on whether Lillian was willing to let her off the hook.
After everything Bella had done to destroy her, why would Lillian ever show her mercy? Forgiving her would mean betraying herself.
While the Mercer Group's stock prices experienced a slight bump, Brandon Mercer remained obsessively focused on uncovering the truth behind Lillian's imprisonment.
His self-imposed three-day deadline had already passed. Naturally, he felt no guilt over the delay; as long as he could eventually present Lillian with answers, he considered it a win.

Brandon crossed his arms, his gaze piercing. "I'm only going to ask you this once. Did you tell Sabrina to contact the guards we bribed? Did you give her orders to do anything to Lillian?"
"Are you blind, Dad?" Brandon roared. "Where exactly is this kindness? If she's so kind, why did my mother and Lillian's mother both end up losing their minds?
"If she's so kind, would she have faked a pregnancy to frame Lillian and throw her behind bars?
"You're so blinded by this pathetic illusion of love that you can't even see what's right in front of you."
Brandon let out a dark, mocking laugh. "You really refuse to accept the truth until it's staring you in the face. You actually believe she's a good person. Tell me, Dad, when has Sabrina Ward ever been kind?"
Brandon knew exactly how stubborn his father could be. Without missing a beat, he pulled out the final piece of evidence.
He slammed the Ward Confession Tape down onto the mahogany desk.
With a sharp click, Sabrina's own voice echoed through the quiet office...
