Ruined. This entire dinner was ruined!
Colin wasn't faring much better. He watched Ethan devour the food like a starving man, yet somehow handle the utensils with the practiced elegance of someone accustomed to dining on ultra-premium ingredients daily.
It made them even angrier!
But fury aside, the brothers were completely powerless to stop him.
He came with Lillian, after all. To disrespect him was to disrespect her.
However, Ethan wasn't content with feasting alone. He cheerfully invited Mr. Peregrine and Sienna to join him.
While Brandon and Colin sat in furious, stifled silence, the doctor and the nutritionist struck up a lively conversation.
Though Mr. Peregrine didn't share Ethan's ravenous appetite, he sampled the dishes while enthusiastically discussing with Sienna how they could tweak the recipes and add specific herbs to adapt them for Lillian.
The two of them ate and brainstormed with great passion.
They entirely ignored the fact that Brandon was rolling his eyes so hard he could see his own brain.
Unable to endure it any longer, he forced another opening to speak to Lillian.
"Lillian, can you really not have a single bite?"
Lillian replied, "Mhm. You heard my doctor and nutritionist.
The preparation style of these dishes isn't suitable for me.
The ingredients themselves are fine, though. They can modify them into medicinal meals for me later.
Go ahead and eat. Why do you two look like you've lost your appetites? Is the food not to your liking?"
It wasn't about the food. Watching this spectacle made them physically nauseous. They couldn't swallow a damn thing.
As for the internal warfare of the Mercer family, that was their own business. She had no desire to instigate anything.
Yet, the more indifferent she acted, the more Brandon believed he couldn't afford to be lenient with Sabrina.
He needed to bring the hammer down on her. Otherwise, if Lillian remained displeased, all the money he blew tonight would have been for nothing.
"Lillian, rest assured, whether you ask for it or not, we take this matter very seriously. We won't let you suffer that gross injustice in prison for nothing."
Lillian kept her head down, eating her meal. Barely a word he said registered.
She didn't care what the Mercers did, nor did she try to manipulate Brandon's plans.
Dealing with Sabrina?
She would exact her own revenge, but if the Mercer men wanted to wage war against the Ward women first, she was more than happy to sit back and watch the show!
