In his mind, his agenda was far more important.
"Dad, I came over tonight to discuss Debbie Harris."
Wasn't this the old man's mess to clean up in the first place?
The fact that Sebastian was stepping in to handle it already made him a dutiful son.
Hearing that cursed name guaranteed Old Mr. Blake wouldn't be getting any sleep tonight.
"You still haven't found her?"
The old man's voice dripped with impatience.
"You know her better than anyone," Sebastian replied smoothly. "Where else could she have gone? My men have turned Northwyn upside down and there's no sign of her. I figured you might have a lead."
"You're coming to me for information?" Old Mr. Blake scoffed. "Weren't your men the ones who took her away? You can't even keep tabs on one old woman. What use are you?"
Sebastian's expression darkened. His patience with the Debbie situation had run completely dry.
"I'm useless? Shouldn't you be the one dealing with this? If it weren't for you, we wouldn't even have a Debbie Harris problem. I offered to clean up this mess to sever your dirty karma, didn't I?"
Old Mr. Blake's face flushed with rage. "What did you just say? Repeat that!"
Seeing the explosive tension between father and son, Old Mrs. Blake quickly stepped in to de-escalate.
