"You'll take over his care?" Old Mr. Blake scoffed in utter disbelief. "When have you ever had the time? Need I remind you that it was under your brilliant supervision that Bella Ward got her claws into him? Look at the monster she turned him into!"
"That won't happen again," Sebastian countered defensively. "I'll make time. I'll discipline him myself."
Old Mrs. Blake had initially been willing to wash her hands of the situation, but after witnessing the horror show inside, she couldn't stay silent.
She had zero faith in Sebastian's parenting.
"Sebastian," she reasoned, her tone tight. "Let him stay at the main estate. You can visit him there. It works out for everyone.
We might be old, but we aren't dead yet.
We can manage a child.
He belongs with his family, in a stable environment. Don't you agree?"
Sebastian refused to let go of the boy.
He had moved heaven and earth to rip Noah out of that elite overseas program.
Having his son by his side was his only leverage left in this miserable chess game.
If he handed Noah over to his parents, they could easily put him on the next flight out of Northwyn while Sebastian was stuck in a boardroom.
He wasn't going to hand over his only weapon.
"Don't worry about it," Sebastian said flatly. "I am not giving him to you.
He stays with me."
Neither side bothered to ask Noah what he wanted. But judging by the way the boy was trembling against Sebastian's chest, he was terrified of going with his father.
