Bella rolled her eyes and turned to Martin. "Dad, I'll leave Mom in your hands. I have to head back to the office. The project is at a critical stage, and I have a mountain of work waiting for me."
Martin nodded dismissively. "Go. Don't forget to eat dinner."
Once Bella was out the door, Martin glared at his sons. "You two are home awfully early."
Brandon crossed his arms. "Didn't you tell us to clear our schedules for the weekend because you had something important planned?"
Martin didn't answer, and Brandon didn't explicitly mention Lillian.
Instead, his sharp gaze landed directly on Sabrina.
"Well, Sabrina looks like she's having a rough day. Did something happen while we were out?" Brandon asked, his tone dripping with sarcasm.
Sabrina kept her mouth shut, leaning heavily against Martin. "Do you want to go upstairs and rest?" Martin asked gently.
Sabrina nodded weakly. She had absolutely no desire to spar with these two. Neither of them ever let her breathe.
But Brandon wasn't about to let her escape. "Hold on, Sabrina. Don't rush off just yet. Colin and I have a few things to discuss with you.
Have you thought about the shares we mentioned earlier?"
The moment the word 'shares' left Brandon's mouth, Sabrina slapped a hand over her heart, gasping.
Martin jumped, instantly terrified.
He didn't even wait for her to complain of pain before he whipped around and roared at Brandon. "Keep your voice down! I told you I'm finding a way to fix things with Lillian!"
Brandon stood there, stunned. It didn't take a genius to realize Sabrina had just cast another one of her manipulative spells on the old man.
