Bella cursed Debbie internally. Even now, this old degenerate gambler was still plotting to steal Sebastian's money.
But as long as the cash came through, Bella didn't care how it happened.
She held up two fingers.
Debbie immediately understood. Her eyes went wide. "A $2 billion demand?"
"Why not?" Bella shot back. "It's not like your son can't afford it."
"I just told you how cheap he is! You were his fiancée, you were going to marry him. Don't you know how much he's willing to spend on you?
He might swallow a $1 billion debt just to save face, but two billion? You're pushing him to a point where he'd rather cut his losses. A billion is the absolute limit. Anything more, and he won't pay a dime."
Bella clenched her jaw. "Fine. After we subtract your debt to me, we split the rest."
"You..." Debbie glared at her furiously. "I'm the one who lost two fingers, not you!"
"You should have thought about that before you scammed me!"
Was it my debt? No, it was yours, you degenerate gambler!"
Debbie was left speechless.
A few million dollars wouldn't even cover a bad night at the casino.
But she had no other choice.
She was trapped in Bella's hands, entirely at her mercy.
"Fine. After the debt, we split it fifty-fifty."
Standing nearby, Lucas listened to the exchange, his heart pounding in his chest.
A wide grin broke across Lucas's face.
Just as he nodded, his phone rang.
He glanced at the screen and whispered to Bella, "It's the casino. They haven't stopped looking for Debbie. They keep calling me."
Bella let out a cold laugh. "I forgot how cozy you are with them.
But you've seen everything today. Pick a side.
And choose carefully, because if you pick the wrong one, you'll end up with nothing."
Lucas got the message loud and clear.
Still, without a concrete number, he felt anxious. He tested the waters. "Miss Ward, you said I'd get my cut. I'm just curious... how much are we talking about?"
