"Alright, I get it," Martin waved him off. "I wasn't going to help her anyway. Get back to work."

No sooner had Brandon left than Martin's phone buzzed. It was Sabrina. He couldn't exactly ignore his wife.

"Martin," Sabrina said, her voice tight with panic. "Bella is going to the Blake Group to confront Sebastian. Could you please go with her? Things are so volatile between them right now, and I'm terrified of what might happen. Just be there to support her, please?"

Go with her? Absolutely not. If things went south, Bella would inevitably beg him for money he didn't have.

"Sabrina, I'm about to step into a critical board meeting," Martin lied smoothly. "You should go with her. Sebastian is a businessman; he'll negotiate. Just talk it out with him, okay?"

Before Sabrina could argue, Martin ended the call, breathing a heavy sigh of relief.
