Her expression was icy. "You don't look very happy to see me. What's the matter? Are you getting up to something behind my back?"

"I'm skipping work today," Bella announced smoothly. "I'm going to stay right here and keep you company. You must be dying of boredom locked up in this room all day."

Lucas froze, his eyes widening in pure panic.

Was she insane? He was scheduled to pick up Debbie's Temporary Identification Card today.

Once he had the ID, they could instantly replace the bank cards and split the $1.2 billion directly down the middle. Just the two of them.
