The hospital room door pushed open, and Debbie Harris jolted awake from her nap.
Ever since she moved into this hospital, trapped in this room, she hadn't been able to get a proper night's sleep.
Occasionally, when the exhaustion became too much, she would doze off, but the slightest noise would snap her wide awake.
That lingering sense of unease haunted her constantly, making it impossible to rest.
She still desperately wanted to escape. Perhaps if she could just get out from under Sebastian Blake's control, she would finally be able to sleep.
Snapping awake, she looked warily toward the door, only to see Sabrina Ward and her daughter walking in.
Debbie immediately furrowed her brow. "You two?"
Bored out of her mind, Debbie genuinely wished for someone to talk to.
But she certainly didn't want to see this treacherous mother-daughter duo.
Sabrina had been itching to see Debbie make a fool of herself. Falling into her own son's hands was arguably a worse fate than staying by Bella's side.
Besides, even if Debbie's severed hand was directly linked to Bella, the old woman had agreed to the plan voluntarily.
Since it was voluntary, it meant her daughter was technically blameless.
"It's been a while. I never expected you to be living such the high life, my dear friend. I simply had to come and congratulate you," Sabrina said.
Debbie gritted her teeth. The high life?
"What? If you love it so much, why don't we trade places?"
Debbie might have lost a hand, but she certainly hadn't lost her tongue. Her razor-sharp words were still lethal enough to infuriate anyone.
Sabrina, however, was used to it. That was just how Debbie was, and she was never going to change.
Sabrina chuckled, stepping right up to Debbie's bedside. "This is the absolute best room in The Prestige Wing. Most people couldn't get in here even with money. Look around, this place rivals a five-star hotel.
