Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1522

1522 /1624

Sabrina Ward felt utterly helpless, but she had no other choice. Her top priority was to pacify Martin Mercer. The man was impossible; if she didn't coddle him, he threw a fit.

Admittedly, she had neglected him over the past few days. With the Mercer family in absolute chaos, she had chosen to stay by her daughter's side, leaving him alone at home. Somehow, he had managed to work himself into a sickbed. Even though she knew the household staff could easily care for him, she also knew he was entirely incapable of managing his own emotional and psychological needs.

Pulling her jacket tight, Bella Ward followed her mother downstairs to the regular ward to find him.

The nurses had just received the news and were informing him.

"Mr. Mercer, a room just opened up in The Prestige Wing upstairs. We can move you..."

Before the nurse could finish, Sabrina and Bella walked in.

Bella stepped forward. "Dad, are you okay?"

Though Martin was still fuming, he couldn't take it out on Bella. He forced a stiff smile.

Sabrina rushed to his side. "How did you manage to get sick after just two days at home? I'm so sorry. I've been so caught up with Bella's upcoming surgery that I didn't check on you."

With outsiders and Bella present, Martin swallowed his complaints.

Soon, a staff member arrived to announce that The Prestige Wing suite was ready and offered to escort Martin upstairs.

Sabrina smoothly took the IV bag, supporting Martin's arm as they walked. "The room upstairs actually belonged to a friend of Bella's. When they heard you were sick, they pulled some strings to transfer it to us before they even discharged. And what a coincidence—it's right across the hall from Bella's room. Now I can take care of both of you at the same time."
