The moment Bella was wheeled toward the operating room, Sabrina finally managed to escape Martin's suite.
Lying on the gurney, Bella gripped Sabrina's hand with white-knuckled intensity. "Mom, you remember everything we discussed?"
"I remember," Sabrina promised softly. "Don't worry."
Bella's anxiety was palpable; her grip tightened painfully.
"It's going to be messy, and it's going to drag your name through the mud again, but you're the only one I trust."
Sabrina met her daughter's terrified gaze and offered a reassuring smile.
"It's going to go flawlessly. I gave you my word, and I'll deliver.
"No matter how vicious it gets, I've got your back."
Bella exhaled, her tense muscles relaxing slightly.
The nurse gently reminded them that family members had to wait outside the surgical wing. Bella gave her mother's hand one last desperate squeeze before letting go.
Her eyes stayed locked on Sabrina until the heavy doors swung shut.
The second the doors sealed, Sabrina pulled out her phone, opened a chat with a blank black avatar, and typed a single word: *Start.*
She took a deep breath. A moment later, the reply came through: *Media Smear Campaign ready... Trending Blitz booked...*
The money was already working its magic. Every single detail had been meticulously orchestrated by Bella before she even went under the knife.
Sabrina was merely the trigger man. The only real complication was Sabrina's heavily tarnished reputation. While the paparazzi had stopped camping outside the Mercer estate, her stepping back into the spotlight would inevitably cause friction.
The pressure was immense.
And on top of that, she had to deliver an Oscar-worthy performance right here in the waiting room.
She was mentally rehearsing her cues when a familiar, whiny voice echoed down the hall.
