Family on Their Knees Heart Turned to Ice novel Chapter 1560

During her lunch break, Lillian received a call from Brandon.

Usually, Brandon knew his place and rarely called to bother her without a good reason.

So, seeing his name on the screen, Lillian picked up.

Brandon's voice was practically overflowing with forced enthusiasm. "Lillian! I recently restructured the company and officially shut down the Mercer Legacy Production Lines. I'm preparing to open a brand-new facility. Do you have time this Saturday to come take a look? I'd love to get your input."

Lillian's heart skipped a beat when she heard the words 'shut down the Mercer Legacy Production Lines'.

Those lines were the foundation her grandmother had built from scratch.

As far as she knew, they were the only operations still turning a profit. They hadn't suffered massive losses like the rest of the company. And Brandon just shut them down?

A heavy knot of anger twisted in her chest.

She had the capital to launch a hostile takeover of the Mercer Group ages ago, but she had held back. One of the main reasons was that she refused to let her grandmother's legacy be destroyed in the crossfire.

And now...

Brandon had just effortlessly wiped it out?

After a long silence, Brandon spoke up again. "Lillian? Are you still there?"

"I hear you," Lillian replied coldly. "I'll be there on Saturday."

Brandon was overjoyed. He hadn't expected her to agree so easily.

Blood truly was thicker than water, he thought. His sister talked tough, but she had a soft spot for family.

Look at how quickly she agreed to help with his business, even if she hung up abruptly. She obviously cared deeply.
