Sebastian's gaze turned somber. "She said she's going abroad for treatment. She's leaving."
Brandon stood up sharply. "What?"
Going abroad for treatment? Leaving for a while?
Shouldn't she have been cured ages ago?
She had stormed into offices and was currently running a wildly successful tech company. How could she need to go abroad for treatment?
Looking at her normally, she didn't seem like a sick person at all.
Sebastian narrowed his eyes. "You didn't know?"
The scrutiny in Sebastian's eyes deepened. He had assumed Brandon, the only person whose calls Lillian still answered, possessed more inside information.
Yet he was entirely clueless about such massive news?
Brandon reacted strongly, immediately pressing back, "When did this happen? Would she really tell you something this important?"
Sebastian scoffed. "The fact that she didn't tell you something this important means you need to take a hard look in the mirror."
Right now, Brandon's mind was consumed by a single, glaring anxiety.
If Lillian went abroad for treatment now without agreeing to return to the Mercer family, the Mercers would be left hanging by a thread.
The Mercer Group was in dire straits. If they couldn't hold on...
Or worse, what if Lillian didn't survive? If she died, what then?
If she died before officially rejoining the family, it would be an utter catastrophe.
Brandon didn't have time to sit around drinking coffee with Sebastian. He couldn't afford to wait a few days to find Lillian; he needed to go now.
Right this second.
"Look, something came up. Make yourself at home."
Grabbing his phone, Brandon rushed out of his office.
Sebastian was left completely stranded, though Julian was still there.
