Lillian had a busy day as well. During her lunch break, she saw the Mercer family's latest move.
She didn't need to think twice to guess it was all Brandon's idea.
Martin doted on his homewrecker wife. How could he possibly make her do something like that?
The only person who could have made this decision was Brandon.
The two brothers must have conspired, and Lillian could even guess that to prevent their old man from objecting, they had acted first and forced his hand.
No matter how unwilling Sabrina was, they would use the company's interests and its current predicament as leverage to finalize the matter.
The thought made Lillian smile.
She almost choked on her water as she took a happy sip.
Ethan said, "Ms. Mercer, Mr. Ford has an appointment to see you this afternoon, before the end of the workday."
Lillian nodded. "Alright, I know. Just let him come straight up when he arrives."
"It seems Mr. Ford is bringing someone with him. Should we let them come up as well, Ms. Mercer?"
"Of course. Is there any reason to stop someone he brings?"
It was obvious that Lillian was in a very good mood.
Ethan guessed it was because of the news online.
"Ms. Mercer, aren't you worried that after a month of live-streamed apologies, the public will side with them and pressure you to reconcile?
After all, playing the victim for a long time can have an effect. You see…"
This was a meeting Lillian had to attend.
She nodded in acknowledgment. "I know. I'm going to rest for a bit. Please remember to wake me."
Lillian's office had a small private room for resting.
Given her poor health, a small bed had been included when the office was designed.
Although the Mercer family's affairs hadn't affected her directly on a large scale, she couldn't help but find her mind occupied with the issues. It was mentally and emotionally draining, and her current physical condition could barely handle her workload as it was.
She shouldn't be worrying about these extra things.
This was why Leonard insisted on sending her by helicopter and was adamant about her not driving herself.
He didn't want her to waste any extra energy. Her health was the most important thing.
