"You see..."
With the current situation, it really wasn't easy for Sebastian Blake to go over there.
"Find a way. We can wait in the parking garage under Lillionix."
Julian Ross took a deep breath. "Mr. Blake, I'm afraid that won't work. The identity of Li is just too monumental, too shrouded in mystery. With how things have escalated, a lot of people won't be sleeping tonight. The media is going crazy staking out every location, desperate for an exclusive scoop. Right now, both the Lillionix headquarters and their manufacturing plant are swarming with people."
Julian handed him the latest updates he had pulled up on his phone.
Sebastian glanced at the screen, and a heavy knot tightened in his chest.
He couldn't get a call through to Lillian Mercer's phone. Even if he tried a different number, she would instantly block any unrecognized caller. By now, her phone was likely set to automatically reject all unknown numbers.
He simply couldn't reach her.
He remembered how desperately Lillian used to pursue him years ago. It was painfully ironic that now, he couldn't even manage to see her face.
The tables had completely turned.
Without any quick way to reach her in the endless night, Sebastian suddenly felt entirely adrift, like a man without a home. It occurred to him that once upon a time, Lillian would always leave a light on for him at their marital villa.
It was a shame he rarely ever went home back then.
"Mr. Blake, where should we go now?"
Faced with the ironclad proof Nathan had dropped regarding Lillian's identity, the three men were left in absolute shock. It was the middle of the night, yet they sat frozen in the downstairs living room. Even the sounds of Bella destroying her bedroom overhead couldn't snap them out of their daze.
They sat in heavy silence, chain-smoking until the entire room was thick with a suffocating haze.
Finally, Martin Mercer lifted his head, a look of utter bewilderment on his face. "She's Li? Are we sure she's the same Li we were trying to partner with? How is that even possible?"
Brandon Mercer was just as mind-blown. After two hours of smoking and racking his brain over Lillian's childhood, he shook his head. "How could she be Li?"
Colin Mercer chimed in. "Wasn't she just a gaming addict? Aside from Grandma, everyone knew she did nothing but play video games all day."
The three men exchanged blank stares, their expressions frozen in absolute confusion.
