Sabrina sighed in resignation. "Fine, whatever you say. If you want to starve her, we'll starve her. Going hungry for a few days won't kill her. But since you brought her out into the open, we need to hire someone to guard the door. We can't afford any mistakes."
Bella was too exhausted to iron out the logistics, but she trusted her mother completely.
"Find some of your contacts to watch the room. I'll figure out a way to pay for it."
Sabrina nodded and quietly slipped out of the room.
Bella took a quick shower, swallowed her medication, and collapsed into bed.
She desperately needed sleep. She couldn't afford to run around the city hunting for Sebastian. Her options were severely limited, and she needed a clear head to strategize.
Her night was plagued by endless nightmares. When her alarm finally blared the next morning, she forced her heavy body out of bed.
Glancing at her phone, she saw a missed call from an unknown number. She normally ignored them, but a gut feeling told her to call back.
When the informant answered, the news hit her like a physical blow.
"What did you just say? Sebastian is making moves to bring Noah Blake back?"
Any lingering exhaustion instantly vanished, replaced by an electrifying surge of panic.
Her mind raced at a terrifying speed.
"Everything is a complete disaster right now! Why would he suddenly want to bring his son back? What is he trying to do?"
The informant mumbled a few more sentences, and Bella completely lost her mind.
"He has no right to do this! This is crossing the line!" she shrieked into the phone.
She paced the room, hyperventilating until she finally managed to reign in her temper.
"I'm sorry. I'm not yelling at you," she said, her voice shaking. "I'll wire the payment to your account immediately.
If you hear anything else, contact me the second it happens."
She hung up the phone. Her first instinct was to hurl the device at the wall, but she gritted her teeth and held back.
She needed the phone.
She couldn't believe it. While Sebastian was ruthlessly pushing for their divorce, he was simultaneously plotting to win back Lillian?
"You smash up the house twice a week! If you have a problem, just say it! What is the point of destroying our property?
Do you have zero respect for the situation this family is in right now?
You're a married woman! If you want to throw a tantrum, go do it in your own house!"
The words felt like a knife to her chest.
Bella didn't have a house.
She had married Sebastian, only to be discarded on the very same day.
The next morning, his legal team slapped The Blake Divorce Settlement in her face.
Go home? She couldn't even get past the front gates of the Blake estate. She could ram her car into the steel doors and they still wouldn't open. Going home was a fantasy.
Brandon and Colin were completely sick of her volatile behavior. Did she think the furniture paid for itself?
Sabrina rushed in to comfort her daughter, but seeing Martin Mercer's furious expression in the doorway, she swallowed her words, terrified of escalating the situation.
