After hanging up, Bella rested her head against the steering wheel, banging it lightly in despair.
Sebastian's meaning was crystal clear—he wanted Lillian to return and take over her position!
An unprecedented sense of crisis washed over her, leaving her utterly unmoored.
Her car remained stalled in the middle of the road until the traffic cops arrived and towed it away, with her still inside.

Sebastian stared at his beeping phone. It was the first time Bella had ever hung up on him.
This was a good trend. She would cave eventually. She would sign The Blake Divorce Settlement.
That was all that mattered.
He didn't care what Bella thought or did. Right now, his only priority was the divorce.
Of course, getting her out of the company was equally important.
He tossed the phone aside and picked up his glass of liquor.
It was barely closing time, and though he hadn't left his office, he had already poured himself a drink.
When Lester Ross walked in, the sharp scent of alcohol hit him immediately.
He had a creeping suspicion that drinking after work was going to become the new normal for the formidable CEO.
And with that, Lester felt his own job security growing precarious.
When sober, Sebastian's mind was a steel trap. He was fiercely logical and never made impossible demands.
But after a few drinks? All bets were off.
The last time he drank, he insisted on driving himself. A sober Sebastian would never do something so reckless.
"Mr. Blake."
Sebastian offered his assistant a brief nod.
"Focus on these academies. If you get any leads, notify me immediately."
He was the boy's father—that was undeniable. Once he found Noah, he would figure out a way to bring him home.
With that settled, Sebastian moved on to the next item. "Inform Human Resources. They are to work overtime tonight and finalize the transition of Bella's projects."
Lester looked surprised but quickly composed himself. "Mr. Blake, is Miss Ward truly leaving the company? To be fair, over the years, she has made some contribu—"
Sebastian cut him off before he could finish the word.
"She is not irreplaceable. Her character is compromised, and that is a fatal liability for this company. She could easily cause a catastrophic failure down the line. Given the current circumstances, it's best she leaves."
Lester thought for a moment and nodded. "Understood. I'll make the arrangements immediately."
"And what about the law firm Bella hired?" Sebastian asked. "Did you get the information?"
Lester's expression shifted slightly, but he answered steadily. "Yes, I did. But the settlement amount she's demanding... I'm afraid it far exceeds your expectations, sir."
