Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 493

He pressed her against the edge of the table, kissing her deeply.

The ends of his hair were still dripping. A drop landed on her collarbone, sliding slowly into her pajamas and making her shiver slightly.

They were both in pajamas, smelling of shower gel, in extremely close proximity.

Theodore couldn’t stop himself from seeking her lips. After kissing her for a good while, he finally managed to regain control. His eyes were slightly red as he kissed her forehead.

“Alright, go to bed,” he said, his voice husky.

Emilia looked at Theodore, who was clearly restraining himself, and turned her face away.

“Okay,” she replied, and then she fled.

If she didn’t leave then, something else was bound to happen.

Emilia hurriedly padded up the stairs in her slippers and returned to her room.

“Good night,” she said from the doorway.

“Good night,” Theodore looked up and said with a smile.

Only then did she close her bedroom door.

Theodore looked down at himself, took a deep, restrained breath, then put away the water glass and hairdryer before slowly heading upstairs.

He stood outside her bedroom door for a moment before returning to his own room.

In her bedroom, Emilia heard his footsteps recede and rolled over.

She reached up to touch her lips, then pressed a hand to her heart.

It was pounding wildly.

These few days were hectic with The Erickson Group’s new product launch.

The other day, Tyler and Owen went out for drinks. Tyler got drunk, and Owen took him directly to his apartment next to The Erickson Building.

With the new product launch, there was a lot to handle at the company, and Tyler often worked late into the night, so he had been staying at that apartment.

Today, the new product finally launched.

After the launch, everything was going smoothly.

What?

For a moment, Tyler couldn’t process what was happening.

Why were strangers in her rental apartment?

Were they burglars?

But it didn't seem so. He thought he had just seen them open the door normally.

The man was saying something to the woman, showing her the living room, bedroom, and kitchen, one by one.

They didn't look like burglars. They looked more like… a real estate agent.

And…

With the lights on, Tyler could see from a distance that the living room was no longer filled with her things.

It was empty, as if no one lived there anymore.

Tyler frowned, immediately went downstairs, and headed for the building across the street.
