But Tyler had done just that.
“I think…” Theodore lowered his eyes slightly. “Tyler probably lost his mind when he discovered that Emilia and I were living together.”
He paused for a moment before continuing, “But none of that is an excuse for him to hurt Emilia!”
Christian was momentarily stunned to hear they were living together, but he said nothing. He understood that since Emilia had agreed to the engagement, it was only a matter of time.
“That bastard Tyler!” Christian cursed. Then, a look of conflict crossed his face as he looked hesitantly at Theodore.
“When you got there, did he…”
Christian didn’t finish the sentence, but Theodore understood what he was asking.
“No,” Theodore said, his voice firm and serious. “I’m not lying to you. He didn’t succeed.”
Tyler had left Emilia a mess and had even unbuckled his belt, but when Theodore had arrived and kicked him off the bed, Tyler had not yet had the chance to take the final step.
But those were details Christian didn’t need to know.
Christian let out a breath of relief.
“Thank god,” he muttered. “If it had really gotten to that point, I don’t know what Emilia would…”
Theodore looked at Christian.
Even without it getting to that point, Emilia’s condition was still dire.
Theodore said no more as the car sped toward the hospital.
Tyler was lying alone in his hospital bed.
The air was thick with the smell of antiseptic as he stared at the white ceiling.
His mind kept replaying what he had done yesterday.
Emilia’s miserable, pitiful state appeared in his head over and over.
He had been blinded by jealousy and lost all reason.
Bang!
The door to his room was thrown open violently.
Christian and Theodore appeared in the doorway—one incandescent with rage, the other radiating a cold, murderous intent.
“Tyler!” Christian stormed over, grabbed Tyler by the collar, and started pummeling his face and body.
“You.”
