Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 680

Xenia had been absolutely furious at the time.

But instead of immediately exploding, she had kept her composure and said:

"My son loves Emilia. You don't need to call the Lane girl."

But Priscilla Quinn had pushed her luck.

"What does your son know?" Priscilla had sneered. "He's obviously been bewitched by that gold-digger. The fact that Tyler Erickson married her after her family went bankrupt proves she's manipulative. Xenia, you need to step up and control the situation. You can't let Theodore fall into her trap."

That was the final straw for Xenia.

"I adore her too," Xenia had fired back.

"Oh, why are you being so stubborn? What is so great about a secondhand woman?"

After that comment, Xenia had stormed out of the spa.

Priscilla was essentially calling both Xenia and her son idiots with terrible taste.

The more Xenia thought about it, the angrier she got. She was also terrified that Emilia might hear rumors about her being a 'wicked mother-in-law' who hated her. Worse, she was worried these gossiping socialites would start aggressively throwing other women at Theodore or Emilia just to cause drama. So, she drove straight to Glenn Manor, grabbed Emilia, and brought her back.

"Did you catch all that?" Xenia whispered.

Emilia nodded, though she was still unsure of what Xenia planned to do.

When she was married to Tyler, his mother hadn't actively bullied her, but she had never been warm, either.

Tyler's parents spent most of their time overseas managing international business, so they rarely interacted, and when they did, it was always painfully formal.

Emilia had never experienced someone fiercely going to bat for her like this.

"You don't need to do a single thing. I just brought you here to parade you around and prove my loyalty to you," Xenia said confidently. "Just hold your head high and act like you own the place."

Oh. So that was the plan.
