Farewell to Love: The CEO's Desperate Chase novel Chapter 737

Emilia didn't finish the sentence, but Theodore already knew exactly what she meant.

"I came to keep you company," he said simply.

He casually dragged a few folding cots out from the corner, setting them up for her exhausted team to crash on later.

He had also brought Assistant Vance along to haul in crates of energy drinks and late-night snacks.

"Is that a problem?" Theodore asked, raising an eyebrow playfully.

Emilia smiled. Looking at him, she was suddenly reminded of her younger self, back when she still believed in unconditional love.

"No, it's perfect," she said softly.

She knew exactly what it felt like to want to take care of the person you loved, no matter how inconvenient it was.

Even if it meant pulling an all-nighter just to sit in the same room.

Though, looking around at the massive catering setup, Theodore was doing a lot more than just sitting there.

Emilia led the way deeper into the office, with Theodore trailing right behind her.

The second they walked into the bullpen, they were hit by a wall of frantic energy.

Because the Aegis news had dropped at 11 PM, almost everyone had been dragged straight out of bed.

Ray was the most obvious casualty, sporting giant, crooked glasses and a massive pink bow haphazardly clipping back his hair.

The rest of the staff didn't look much better.

Many of these people were loyal veterans who had worked under Inman Dennis, while others were hungry young talent Emilia had recently poached.

It was a chaotic, cross-generational war room.

"Boss!" Ray yelled, abandoning his monitors the second he spotted her. "Someone just dumped a ton of survival gear and food in the breakroom. Was that you?"

Emilia laughed, shaking her head. "That was Theodore's doing. He's here too."

Ray blinked, finally noticing the tall man standing quietly behind her.

Theodore offered him a polite smile.
