Fated To Three, And I Broke Them All novel Chapter 163

Chapter 163: 163-The Big Bad Restless Wolf.

Verity:

"Because the other packs can object," I continued.

We had been talking for the past ten minutes.

Ragnar did not seem like he had a lot of input. Or maybe he was just keeping it to himself.

I noticed he was really anxious, sweating a lot and constantly trying to reach for his shirt’s button.

But then he would stop, possibly because I was sitting right next to him and he felt it was inappropriate.

I’m just not sure what was going on with him, but all in all, he did not look very confident.

I decided to give it a rest once I noticed he was getting really annoyed.

He was getting really uncomfortable.

"I think we should talk about it in the morning."

As soon as I suggested that, I watched him tilt his head, not looking very— um, okay.

"Why? What’s wrong with doing it now?" he asked, making me gulp.

"Actually, it seems like you’re tired," I said, trying to adjust myself on the seat.

That was my way of avoiding direct eye contact with him.

"You don’t need to worry about anything. I’m fine," he muttered.

"Oh, all right then," I mumbled, frowning in confusion at what I did wrong this time.

I mean, he was quite judgmental.

I knew that much, but I had to adjust because he was my boss, and I was just a secretary.

I noticed he opened his mouth a few times, as if he wanted to say something.

Then he kept rubbing his face with his hands.

After another fifteen minutes of me yapping while he just pretended to listen, he finally let out a breath.

"You should go and sleep. You look tired," he said to me.

I was perfectly fine. If anything, it seemed like a cry for help.

I decided not to force him.

"Okay, good night," I said as I reached for my phone.

However, he suddenly leaned forward.

It wasn’t a subtle movement.

For a second, I honestly got scared until he pulled his hand back.

I guess he was trying to reach for my phone. I’m not sure what he was doing.

"Is everything okay?" I asked because Ragnar had never acted this way.

His body language wasn’t like him at all.

"I thought it was my phone," he mumbled.

Then he lifted himself from the couch just enough to check the phone in his pocket.

Then he pulled it out.

Did he think I was stealing his phone?

I’m not sure what was happening with him, but this was just not okay.

Finally, I decided to walk out.

And honestly, it had never felt so amazing.

I was able to sleep peacefully, but honestly, throughout the night, I could hear Ragnar moving around in his room.

It was pretty obvious he was going through some kind of turmoil.
