Fated To Three Betrayed By All Until She Rose (Leilani) by Ahvahh novel Chapter 250

250 Louis’ voice.

After he’d caught the bowl and turned to me, I turned away. Why? Because I didn’t want to see him. Because I didn’t wish to talk to him about it anymore!

They’ve been intent on destroying my life. On breaking me and I couldn’t allow it.

I didn’t wait for him to respond. I didn’t even turn to spare him another glance as I walked out of the office with my phone in hand and a heavy feeling settling in my

chest.

Was he exposed to infrared radiation? Or some zombie virus?

Usually, they were all bark and no bite, but they’ve been biting at me these past couple of days.

I waved him off and picked up my purse, my eyes darting to the wall clock not so far from his chair as I said; “It’s lunch break now and I’d like to step out for some food and

air.”

He went silent as soon as I said that, seemingly deep in thoughts. But what he said next shattered that illusion. He muttered; “Or maybe it’s your mind playing tricks on you.”

I croaked out; “Yes.”

I shuddered. “Do you want something?”

When I heard those words, it felt like my life had suddenly stopped and I froze.

It was cold. Dark. Goddess it was eerie and made goosebumps appear all over my skin.

Tears streamed down my face and a chill ran down my spine when the usual cold wind blew against my flesh but instead of shuddering or shying away like I would do before,

I didn’t.

It came with just enough strength for me to push through the next hour without food. It came with enough strength to keep me conscious for the remaining hours of the day.

“You think someone’s watching me?” He asked sternly then shook his head as if realising something, his voice gruff as he added; “No wait… you think someone’s watching you?”

I chewed on my bottom lip as I stared into the tea cup in front of me, my mind a tornado of conflicting thoughts as I sighed and said; “Do you feel it too?”

Hades, they were indeed intending to starve me to death!

“The difference it would make is that they would no longer think that Leilani was the one who accused them falsely. They would know it was you.”

It was distinct yet there. And in this place where every sound was heard ten times louder than it really was, it spooked me to no end.

“Yes, you.” He answered coldly.

“Nothing… it’s like a feeling.” I explained softly, “wherever I go, I feel like there are invisible eyes watching me but I never see any one.”

My mind for absolutely no reason wasn’t at peace and to top it all, Micah’s strange behavior at the end of the party still rubbed off on me the wrong way.

A couple of days has passed since the whole incident at Gavin’s and Maya’s engagement party and for some reason, I still haven’t been able to shake off that dread I had felt creeping up on me.

I couldn’t help but feel like there was someone watching me every now and then either, and even though I knew that Louis and Clement had been put in jail for complicity and sexual misconduct respectively, and that they couldn’t haunt me from wherever they were, I still felt very bothered.

I threw my head back when it blew in my face, scattering my tears; because for some reason it didn’t just come with a cold, it came with strength.

Today is the third day since Leilani sent me into this messy situation with no way out. 3

Cold even?

My heart stopped. Like literally stopped. I whispered; “But what difference would that make now? I am already rotting in jail!”

A couple of minutes passed and the person didn’t respond to me right away. And just when I had begun to think that they never would, I heard a deep sigh. “Nothing.” The

voice answered.

Besides not being able to see anyone, I have also not been fed anything, and now, I couldn’t help but fear that Kael and his brothers were taking this a bit too far now.

“That’s right, your royal slothship!” I hissed under my breath, referring to how slow he’d been to understand what I was implying. But when he cocked his eyebrows at me

and frowned, I immediately turned away with burning cheeks.

“Who is there?!” I yelled out again, shaking visibly this time.

“I just feel it, okay?!” I yelled, rising to my feet and sending the popcorn bowl on the table flying forward.

“I need to take a walk as well. I’ll see you after lunch break.”

But that wasn’t Louis’ voice!

“The shift in the air… the feeling like someone’s watching you.”

It was also the third day since I ever saw anyone else; my husbands, my brother… my mate. Goddess, I haven’t even been able to see myself due to how eerily dark this God forsaken dungeon was.

My heart raced with the thought of how this was my end. How the triplets had probably decided to end my life in the dark.

For my sake. For my pup’s sake.

Goddess, was his head smashed during his treatment?

“What do you mean how?” I answered with an eyeroll.

Why?

“I don’t know. I don’t know how you expect me to believe that there are people watching you when Chalice and her cohorts have literally been locked behind bars!” 3

“Nothing?” I asked skeptically, hating the way his voice made my skin crawl.

The fact that he caught the popcorn bowl so effortlessly, stopping the mess that would’ve created without breaking a sweat!

Jarek, who had been busy checking through some files- which was the only thing he’s been doing for the past two days- slowly lifted his head to meet my gaze. And as usual, his eyes were soft as he asked me;

Ladies and gentlemen, did I ever tell you guys that ever since Jarek returned from wherever it was that he went, he’s been acting strangely?

And by the gods, he sounded familiar. Too too familiar.

It was someone else!

That was the last thing I heard before something in me snapped. It was the last thing I could wrap my head around before I could no longer stand him.

My anger peaked as I shut off my tablet and dropped it onto his table, my voice icy as I stated. “You don’t have to make it seem like I am making it up.”

“Yes, nothing.” He answered, “I don’t want anything from you. I just want you to tell the alphas the truth… I want you to tell them that you’re responsible for Jennifer’s death. That you had been jealous of her closeness to the Alphas and your sister. That you had her gang raped to ‘ruin’ her innocence… but then she had been brutally killed by accident.”

“But the building has a cafeteria…” he answered mechanically, sounding like some broken robot- which was unlike him. But deciding that I didn’t want to push this further, especially now, I shook my head and sighed;

From a distance, I could vaguely make out the silhouette of a man but I couldn’t see his face due to how dark it was, and somehow, that made it even more unsettling.

Gosh, my problems wouldn’t stop coming even now that I am in a cell!

And do you know what was more annoying than having him not understand a word I

say?

I trembled with apprehension, my limbs shaking as my eyes darted from one end of the dark room to the next. And after a while, I heard that sound again.

My face fell and I frowned. “What do you mean?”

If I haven’t, then this is the perfect opportunity to point that out! He watched me for a moment like he has never seen me in his entire life, his eyes trailing from my head to my fur boots for a moment too long before he sighed, closed the folder in front of him and drawled;

I shook my head. “What do you mean? Why would you want me?”

“But you may be making it up!” He argued, irritating me even further.

The hairs at the back of my neck stood on end at the thought, and the fact that they knew me but I didn’t know them made me even the more antsy.

Chalice.

“What am I supposed to feel?”
