Chapter 105
Caleb said anxiously, his voice laced with anxiety and pleading, “Isabella, it’s not like that! Why are you so
heartless?”
His wolf whimpered, his desperation palpable.
Hearing this, a wave of anger surged within me.
They had treated me that way in my past life, and all I did was leave the Miller pack, no longer begging for their love and care, and I was the one labeled heartless?
My wolf snarled, a low growl rumbling in my chest.
My gaze turned even colder as I picked up my communicator and contacted Emily.
The moment the connection was established, I looked at Caleb through the video, my voice calm and cold.“Since Mr. Miller is sincerely apologizing, returning my things isn’t enough, is it?”
Hope flashed in Caleb’s eyes; his face brightened.
“As long as you forgive me, I’ll grant any request.”
A smirk crept onto my lips, a hint of malice flashing in my eyes.
“What if I want the Heart of the Ocean bracelet at next week’s Silver Moon Auction?”
Caleb paused for a moment but quickly replied, “I will buy it for you.”
My smile widened as I spoke into the communicator, “Emily, your brother is giving me your blood–bond anniversary gift as an apology.”
My wolf reveled in the delicious chaos.
In the video, Caleb’s expression froze instantly. His face paled, panic flickering in his eyes.
Damn, he forgot that was the blood–bond anniversary gift he promised Emily!
And who was I calling? Emily.
His wolf howled silently in his mind – a howl of despair and regret.
As if confirming his suspicion, Emily burst from her den. She hadn’t even put on her fur cloak, just wearing her soft indoor slippers, rushing out of the Miller pack den.
Seeing her like this, Caleb’s heart ached.
His wolf cried out in pain for her. He punched the wall, reproaching me.
“Isabella, have you forgotten Emily’s brother died saving you! Even if you’re jealous of Emily, you can’t hurt her like this!”
My face turned icy; my gaze was sharp; my voice cold.“Instead of blaming me, you should go comfort her now.”

My wolf felt a grim satisfaction.
He suddenly realized what he’d said; regret and self–blame flashed in his eyes.
But he’d done it for my sake; Emily’s brother had died saving me; why was I so harsh to Emily?
His wolf was tormented by guilt.
But before he could explain further, I had already ended the call.
Caleb had no choice but to chase after Emily.
I took a deep breath, feeling a weight still pressing on my chest.
Suddenly, Grayson’s voice broke my thoughts.“Do you like the Heart of the Ocean?”

I jumped at the unexpected question, quickly turning around to see Grayson standing behind me, a contemplative look on his face. I instinctively pressed my lips together, not answering.
My wolf felt a flicker of something akin to hope.
He stepped closer, gently lifting my chin with his long fingers, forcing me to meet his eyes. His gaze was deep and gentle; his voice soft yet firm.“With me, you can speak your mind without hesitation.”
My gaze trembled slightly under Grayson’s scrutiny. I first lowered my eyes, seemingly in thought, then raised them to meet his.“I used to like it.”
The memories flooded back, bittersweet and poignant.
I used to love the Silver Moon River because every year, the Miller brothers took me there.
There were so many beautiful memories there.
That summer after the pack initiation ceremony, the Miller brothers promised to give me a moonstone, saying it represented our strong bond, something I cherished and looked forward to.
