Chapter 110
I subtly raised my hand, displaying the jewelry Grayson had gifted me. The moonstones shimmered under the ethereal glow, reflecting my cool composure. My wolf felt a sense of quiet triumph.
I said calmly, “No need; I already possess the finest. Besides, we’re not bound by blood; accepting your gift would be improper.”
The words “not bound by blood” hit Caleb like a physical blow, causing him to stumble, his face draining of color.
His wolf whimpered, his scent shifting to one of deep distress.
“No… Caleb trembled, pulling a small, intricately carved amulet from his pocket, clearly intending to explain.
It was his mate bond charm.
Suddenly, a sharp cry from the entrance interrupted him.
“Ah! Jared!”
Caleb clutched the amulet, swiftly moving toward the entrance.
Pushing open the heavy oak door, Caleb found Jared slumped against the steps, the Pack Enforcers long gone. Emily knelt beside him, tears streaming down her face.
Caleb rushed to his brother, concern etched on his features.“Are you hurt?”
Jared shoved him away, his eyes blazing.“Mind your own affairs!”
His wolf was still wounded.
Emily gently touched Jared’s arm, her voice soft and tearful.“Jared, don’t speak to Caleb like that. He’s Isabella’s brother; it’s natural for him to support her; don’t be angry. It’s my fault; I didn’t understand my place…”
Her scent was a mixture of sadness and appeasement.
Jared turned to look at Emily, his anger melting into concern. He took her hand.“Don’t blame yourself for everything!”
Emily looked embarrassed. “Jared…”
Suddenly, a cheerful chime pierced the tense silence. Emily saw it was Alexander’s call. Her excitement.
“It’s Alexander!”

She eagerly answered the call.
“Emily, I’m back.” Alexander’s low voice filled the air.
“Alexander! I thought you wouldn’t return for another couple of days!” Her voice was sweet and playful.
“It’s your birthmoon; how could I not return?” His voice was indulgent and loving.

*Alexander, you’re the best! We’re at the auction; we’ll head back immediately,”
“Just go straight to the Whispering Falls; I have a gift for you.”
She shook Jared’s arm, her voice soft. “Jared, don’t be angry, okay?”
Jared’s anger had already subsided; he simply couldn’t bear to lose face. Seeing Emily’s gentle coaxing, he grumbled, “It’s your birthmoon today; I’ll let it go.”
“Jared is the best!” she smiled sweetly.
Jared turned to Caleb, his tone stiff. “It’s Emily’s birthmoon; don’t mention Isabella and spoil her mood.”
Caleb frowned but nodded in resignation.
His wolf sighed, defeated.

Emily immediately linked paws with both her brothers, her paws clicking lightly as they headed toward the waiting
transport.
Before entering, she suddenly turned back, her gaze lingering on me. A triumphant smirk played on her lips; a challenging glint flickered in her eyes.
Her wolf exuded satisfaction and superiority.
It was her birthmoon; the entire Miller pack revolved around her! How could that *not* infuriate me? My wolf snarled silently, her jealousy burning hot.
