Chapter 250.

But he didn’t expect my actions to become so excessive! I even drove Emily to despair and offered a reward, distorting the facts! As my brother,
he had to teach me a lesson!
“I’ll return home as soon as possible.”
Nana was overjoyed–huh, I wanted to be Alpha of the Fire Research Den and throw my weight around? Dream on!
“Keep an eye on her, don’t let her mess up the Fire Research Den. I’ll handle this when I get
“Okay, I’ll drive her out… huh?” Nana was surprised.
She thought Mason would immediately return and banish me from the Den.
back.”
This… this wasn’t what she expected! Considering Mason’s feelings for Emily, he should immediately expel me from the Fire Research Den! Nana tried to say something more, but Mason interrupted her.“I have something else to do. Keep an eye on Isabella,” he said, then ended the communication.
Nana listened to the silence on her comm–stone, stomping her foot in frustration.
She watched my back as I entered the Den, sneering heavily.
“Isabella, so what if you’re the Alpha? When Mason returns, you’ll pay
for this!
Until then, I will protect the Fire Research Den for Emily!”
She stomped her foot angrily and walked into the Den.
After ending the communication, Mason tried to contact Emily. The comm–stone rang twice before she answered, her voice trembling with
tears.
“Mason…”
Hearing the call connected, Mason felt relieved. Hearing her aggrieved voice, his heart ached. He realized that Emily couldn’t answer calls because she had blocked all unknown numbers, only allowing calls from close contacts.
He felt
angry
and annoyed, softly comforting her, “Be strong, Emily, don’t cry! I will be back soon to avenge you!”
I followed Manager Welch into the Fire Research Den building, the lift taking us directly to the management area.
As I stepped out, I scanned the entire area. It was ten o’clock–work hours–but the atmosphere was totally laid–back. Some were eating moonberries, some were grooming their fur, and others were gossiping. No one was working seriously.
A she–wolf employee grooming herself in front of a mirror, when she saw me, her eyes lit up, and she waved, commanding, “Isabella! Come help me with my grooming!”
Everyone stopped working and looked at me. I stood still.
I remembered this she–wolf’s name was Lily. I’d make an example of her today! Lily clearly didn’t expect me, someone they had constantly bossed around because of Emily’s influence, to be so disobedient!
She frowned, slammed her paw on the table, and shouted,
“Are you
deaf? I told you to come here! If you dare to delay my weekly report, I’ll tell Nana and have her deal with you!”
At that moment, Nana strutted into the area in her finest attire, her face grim, lips pressed tight, ready to speak. Lily immediately ran to Nana. “Nana, Isabella is so disobedient. I was just trying to help her fit in with our team, get her to help with my grooming, and she refused!” In the past, I was most afraid of Nana reporting me! Mentioning her, I would obediently do whatever they wanted.
