Chapter266.
I looked up as Levi, the finance director, stormed in, his presence radiating arrogance. “You didn’t earn that money, and you don’t seem to understand its value!” My wolf bristled at his presumption.
Who was acting so recklessly, disregarding the Pack’s resources?!
Emily, less beautiful than me, obsessed with superficial enhancements, had manipulated the research department into creating a skin–whitening concoction for her personal use, all while pretending it was a profitable endeavor for Fire Pack.
Levi began his tirade, but faltered under my icy stare.
I lifted my wrist, revealing my limited–edition timepiece. My wolf smirked; this was a subtle display of dominance. Levi’s eyes narrowed; he knew Emily coveted that very item last year, hinting to the Miller brothers to procure it, but they’d refused due to its cost.
He saw an opportunity–acquire the watch from me and offer it to Emily as a peace offering.
Before he could act, my cold voice cut through the air, “It’s been ten minutes; you’re banished.”
Levi’s eyes widened.“What did you say?”
Ignoring him, I turned to Zeke, the new HR director.“Zeke, personnel changes are your responsibility. Handle this according to Pack law.” My wolf sent a message of unwavering authority.
Zeke, sensing his promotion, straightened. “I understand, Ms. Miller.” My intention was clear: Levi was banished, not simply dismissed. He and his sister, Nana, had abused their connection with Emily, flouting Pack rules.
Finding a reason for their banishment was easy.
Zeke approached Levi, his demeanor hardening.“Levi, let’s talk outside…”
Levi shook him off.
“Talk about what?! You traitor!”
Zeke’s face hardened. With a new Alpha in charge, he wouldn’t back down.
“I’m older than you, so let me give you some advice. The power dynamic within Fire Pack has shifted. It’s no longer Emily’s playground. I’m the HR director now. If you cooperate, I can ensure you receive your due. If not, don’t blame me for being ruthless!”
His wolf growled a warning.
Levi glared, shouting, “You! Zeke!” But he was already being restrained by the pack guards, his expensive attire becoming disheveled, buttons flying off his expensive shirt, making him look ridiculous. He tried to kick Zeke but couldn’t reach him, only managing to roar, “This is illegal detention!”
“Oh, but I’m simply ensuring a smooth transition for Ms. Miller,” Zeke said smoothly, producing a blank sheet of parchment and slowly approaching Levi.
Levi’s face paled. If he touched the parchment, they could add any terms they wanted! He struggled harder, but his struggles were futile. “Zeke, I’m telling you, even if I’m forced to sign this, I won’t acknowledge it! I’ll challenge you in the Pack Council!” His voice trembled with fear.
“Challenge us?” Zeke let out a cold laugh, closing the distance between them.“You still don’t understand the meaning of “The tides within Fire Pack have changed.“” His wolf’s satisfaction was evident.
