Five Alphas Kneel for Me (Isabella) novel Chapter 347

The jeers felt like claws raking across Mason’s alphapride.

My inner wolf snarled, a low growl rumbling in my chest.

His wolf probably felt the same, a potent mix of humiliation and rage.

Just then, the pack healer scurried back, panting, carrying the herbs and tools I’d requested. My wolf sensed the urgency, her instincts sharp and focused. I ignored Mason, his fury a palpable wave beside me,

I took the items, quickly igniting the dried leaves, testing the flint knife’s sharpness, and then swiftly passing it through the flame for purification.

Disinfection under these circumstances relied on the heat of the flames. I poured some healing balm onto the pup’s neck, the sharp, earthy scent filling the air. Every movement was precise and swift, radiating a calm assurance that was the complete opposite of Emily’s earlier pathetic display.

My wolf felt a surge of satisfaction; this was what a true healer did.

Mason didn’t want me to succeed; it would expose his lies and overshadow Emily!

His wolf, I could feel it, was desperate to derail me.

So, predictably, he opened his mouth to intervene.

You’re not a Pack Healer; if you continue, I’ll report you to the Councilah!

Before he finished, a powerful hewolf, unable to contain himself any longer, lunged forward. His muscles rippled as he landed a blow on Mason’s jaw. The impact echoed through the clearing.

Bang!

Mason stumbled back, blood trickling from his lip.

The onlookers, already incensed by his inaction and false accusations, unleashed their pentup anger. His wolf probably whimpered in defeat. I felt a flicker of dark satisfaction.

Tear him apart! Heartless healer!

He ignored the pup and slandered his sister!

Rip him to shreds!

A roar erupted from the crowd, and they surged forward, claws and teeth flashing. He was overwhelmed, covering his head, whimpering in pain.

His wolf must have been screaming in terror.

Emily, witnessing the chaos, went deathly pale.

Her wolf cowered, instinctively retreating to the shadows, terrified the fury would turn on her. All she craved was oblivion.

I tuned out the surrounding turmoil, my senses solely focused on the pup struggling for breath. My wolf worked with me, her inherent healing

abilities assisting me as I quickly prepared the herbs and tools, then booked up at the nowsobbing shewolf beside me.

Her despair was almost a physical thing. My heart ached for her and her pup.
