“Get out! Take your tainted silver and leave! My pup’s life was saved by Miss Miller!” the she–wolf shrieked, her voice raw with emotion.

“If she hadn’t intervened, my son might have… might have…”

Her words caught in her throat, fresh tears streaming down her face.“You want us to betray her? We are not s heartless as you! Unlike the Millers, our hearts are pure!”

Her fury flared, and she snatched a toy from the table, hurling it at Andrew. The toy struck his chest, breaking upon impact. While it caused no serious injury, Andrew’s expression hardened; their refusal was unexpected.

The he–wolf pulled his distraught mate into a comforting embrace, his voice booming, “Take your silver and leave! If you do not, I will summon the Pack Elders!”

Andrew cast a cold gaze at the pup, then at the enraged parents.

“It seems you misunderstand the situation. My intentions will not be swayed.”

He produced a communication token, his gaze wicked, lingering on them, then shifting to the pup.

“The pup appears frail. Perhaps you should consider transferring him to another healing den.”

“What do you mean?” the she–wolf demanded, her voice edged with fear.

“If you refuse to cooperate, this den…,” Andrew’s lips curled into a cruel smirk,

“…no, all dens in Northwood will refuse to treat him.“–

The she–wolf swayed, nearly collapsing.

“You have until the next sunrise to consider. Contact my assistant when you have reached a decision.”

Andrew tossed the token at their paws and turned to leave. But a fist exploded in front of his face, landing a solid

Staggering back, Andrew looked up to see Jared.

His wolf snarled, his inherent Alpha dominance threatening to erupt.
