Chapter401.
“Miss Carter, those locations aren’t working… what should we do?” Noah’s wolf whimpered, sensing Emily’s growing frustration.
The shoot was centered around Emily; he had to wait for her.
A day had already passed, she kept changing locations and plans–when would it be his turn?
His wolf was impatient. He’d already bragged to Grace; if he couldn’t film the howl–video, he’d lose face!
Yet, he dared not complain openly, only cautiously asking. His wolf knew better than to directly challenge Emily’s authority.
Emily found him annoying, but she needed him to act as a distraction for me, so she suppressed her irritation. Her wolf craved revenge.
“Seattle isn’t working, let’s change locations! I know a place, in the Whispering Peaks, several villages suitable for filming.” Her wolf’s sharp scent of determination filled the air.
Noah didn’t want to go, since his shoot wasn’t necessary; but he still had to serve Emily, so he followed.
His wolf reluctantly submitted.
Emily’s team moved to the Whispering Peaks, choosing a village right next to ours. That village was a bit better–paved trails leading straight to the entrance, some newer longhouses that looked more “modern” than ours. But it lacked the natural rustic beauty of our village, and the filming environment wasn’t as good.
Emily’s wolf scoffed at its inferiority.
Still, that was the limit of Emily’s patience–she was here to be an influencer, not suffer!
Her wolf would not tolerate any inconvenience.
Emily paid, but her team maintained an arrogant demeanor, complaining about the living conditions, showing disdain for the food and water offered by the villagers.
Their wolves sent out waves of contempt.
It was like the very air carried a “dirtiness” they couldn’t stand.
Their arrogance offended the village’s wolves.
Their blatant disdain quickly angered the villagers, who stopped pretending and just walked away. Their wolves bristled with indignation.
The next day, Emily began filming.
Noah, trying to impress, used his usual commanding style over Grace, giving orders with his “high–end” aesthetic, demanding villagers cooperate with his shots.
His wolf reveled in his assumed superiority.
He criticized the wildflowers, complaining about the lack of morning dew, demanding they spray water to make Emily look like she’d woken up early.
His wolf was oblivious to the natural beauty.
“How do wildflowers look artistic?” he sneered. His wolf couldn’t comprehend their simple beauty.

The villagers muttered in their dialect, which Emily’s team didn’t understand. The village elder asked them to be patient, as they were
paying.
His wolf was growing impatient.
Then Noah had a few local she–wolves pose as if longing for city life, which pushed the villagers‘ patience to the limit. Their wolves were offended by the implication of their inferiority.
They were living fine in the village; why insult them?
A conflict almost arose until the village elder intervened. His wolf attempted to calm the situation.
He took a drag of his pipe, saying, “You city folk just want to see the real mountains, yet you make so many demands.” His wolf spoke of the disrespect.
Noah felt his professionalism was being questioned.
His wolf bristled.
“You don’t understand! I’ve been a howl–video blogger for a year, I know better than you! You think people really want to see your worn–down longhouses? No, they want the polished, beautified version we create!”
He sneered, “Country bumpkins have no aesthetic sense! And you better cooperate, because if our howl–video blows up, it’ll boost your poor mountain village!” He acted like he was doing them a favor.
His wolf believed its own lies.
“We’ll boost your economy, make you rich–understand?” His condescending tone angered the villagers. Their wolves roared silently in
protest.
His condescending tone angered the villagers. The village elder, suppressing his anger for the sake of the moonstones, showed his displeasure. His wolf seethed.
“How can I not understand? A pack filmed in the nearby village; it’s even more rustic than us, and they said they wanted the natural beauty!”
Noah, about to retort, was interrupted by Emily. Her wolf sensed a threat.
“What did you say? Nearby village? Is someone else filming there?”
Her wolf was alert, sensing competition.
