Chapter452.
Emily’s heart hammered against her ribs.
Her wolf whimpered, a low growl rumbling in her chest.
She stammered, struggling to articulate the words.
“Jared… he… he clashed with Andrew… and then, uh, accidentally…”
Caleb, hearing this, shifted his gaze, his amber eyes narrowed.
His wolf scoffed, rejecting her flimsy explanation.
After all, his previous injury, the one supposedly caused by accidental conflict with his brother–was inflicted by
her.
The memory seared into his wolf’s mind.
Emily bit her lip.
Her wolf snarled, a surge of fear and anger coursing through her.
So Caleb remembered! Why hadn’t the wound claimed his life? Why did his wolf resurrect him from that near–death experience?
She glared at the Pack Healer’s den window, a burning resentment flaring within her.
It was all Jared’s fault for saving Caleb.
Now, she desired Jared’s downfall as well.
At the Silvermoon Pack’s air–field, the roar of the private sky–talon faded.
Julia descended, her polished claws clicking on the stone.
Several bodyguards, clad in black, flanked her, clearing a path through the VIP landing area.
She consulted her spirit–link, a frustrated snarl escaping her as she checked the message she’d sent Grayson hours
earlier–still no response.
Her wolf paced restlessly, impatient and demanding.
Julia’s lips curled into a sneer.
“Huh.”
So be it.
Julia never failed to acquire her desires.
If Grayson ignored her, others would heed her commands.
*What did it matter that I stood beside him? Her wolf growled, a challenge echoing in her thoughts.

*I will show Grayson who truly deserves him.*
Andrew waited nearby, his posture ramrod straight.
He wore a new suit, his fur meticulously groomed, a large bouquet of moon blossoms clutched in his paws.
Julia approached slowly, her eyes scanning the blossoms with a frown.
“Don’t bring those next time,” she stated flatly, her tone devoid of warmth, expressing contempt.
Andrew, who had prepared many soothing words, swallowed them back.
His smile faltered, then quickly recovered, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his eyes.
He bent down, discarding the moon blossoms into a nearby refuse bin, then opened the sky–talon’s door.
“Ms. Smith, please.”
Julia entered.
Andrew had secured her the finest lodgings in the Silvermoon Pack’s territory, a presidential suite. Inside, Julia surveyed the surroundings with a neutral expression, yet her dissatisfaction was apparent. “Is this the best in Silvermoon? It’s nothing like the Kyoto Pack’s dens.
How does Grayson manage to reside in such a cramped space!”
She tossed her satchel onto the plush seating.
“Let’s make do for tonight.”
Andrew’s brow beaded with sweat.
His wolf cowered, sensing her displeasure.
“If Ms. Smith is unsatisfied, I’ll arrange for alternative lodgings immediately.”
Julia snorted.
“This small territory of Silvermoon, no matter how many times you change my lodging, what better options remain? This will suffice.”
She dismissed him with a wave of her paw.
“I’ve already instructed someone to find a suitable dwelling in Silvermoon.”
Andrew’s heart sank.
His wolf whimpered.
This she–wolf was even more extravagant than he’d imagined.
Even a temporary stay demanded a new dwelling.
A Kyoto heiress was clearly beyond their means.

Julia ignited a spirit–smoke, her tone amused as she inquired, “Tell me, how fares the Miller family under Grayson’s assault?”
Andrew’s face tightened.
His wolf bared its teeth in frustration.
Was she here to aid him or to act as Grayson’s spy?
Julia seemed to perceive his thoughts, chuckling.
“You cannot contend with my brother.
But I can assist you in eliminating Isabella.
I disapprove of her as well.”
Andrew and Grayson had been rivals since pups, each vying to surpass the other.
But he never anticipated Grayson’s lineage–a revelation that shattered any possibility of competition.
