Chapter 561

His gaze, subtly challenging, fixed on Logan Grant.
My cousin, and the ‘brother‘ who was anything but platonic to me in the eyes of the pack hierarchy. Though they both held a bethe title in my life, a fierce Alpha–competition simmered between them. In both their eyes, I saw sparks of raw competition, a palpable tension that made the air in the room feel heavy and charged with ozone.
I just wanted the floor to swallow me whole! It was mortifying!
Was this guy seriously treating a high–level Pack Council meeting like some kind of romantic showdown?
Logan Grant’s smile completely vanished. He adjusted the gold–rimmed glasses on his nose, and a cold gleam flashed off the beares just moments ago, I’d thought he was merely amused by Grayson’s childishness, enjoying the spectacle, now, his Alpha temper had genuinely ignited.
Lover–boy?
As if any of us were truly selfless, really.
I knew Logan Grant had always doted on his cousin, Wendy, protecting her like the apple of his eye within the clan. They d only been separated for a few when he went to the distant Northern Territories. But now, some new lover boy Alpha had suddenly appeared, thinking he could just waltz in and claim the top spot in my life? Was that what he thought?
No way in hell.

Logan Grant took a deep breath, his face rearranging itself into that suave, gentle smile of his. But I knew, the warmth never quite reached his eyes. He picked up the serving chopsticks, selected a piece of osmanthus sticky rice lotus root–my absolute favorite–and gently placed it onto the plate right in front of me.
“Isabella,” he said, his voice dripping with such tenderness it felt almost cloying, ‘try this. It’s still your favorite, puss like whe

I was just about to thank him when another pair of chopsticks suddenly reached across the table. Grays face end comprasteve an he deftly plucked the lotus root from my plate and dropped it onto his own bone dish.
It’s gone cold. Not good for your stomach, he explained his voice clipped and heavy with Alpha ummant

Zero. These two were going to compete right here, right now, weren’t they? A full–blown contest to see who could dote on their she–wolf (sister? fated–mate?) more.
Me
What was supposed to be a serious Pack–business meeting had veered wildly off course, swallowed by this bizarre, volatile atmosph of clashing pheromones. The next hour utterly devolved into Grayson and Logan Grant’s personal, utterly ridiculous, show.
And the sole theme: How to extravagantly, and competitively, dote on Isabella.
“Isabella, I heard you’ve been delving into ancient moon–herb meridian theory lately,” Logan Grant began, cutting right to the chase. He pulled a thread–bound ancient text from his briefcase, its yellowed cover worn with age. I had someone acquire this ‘Annotation and Evidential Investigation‘ from a private collector in the Silvermoon Territories. It’s a unique copy, and it might be useful for your healing arts.”
I knew the value of that ancient text. To a pack–healer, it was easily worth a whole hunting estate. My eyes lit up, and I was just abou
reach for it.
Grayson’s Howlnet terminal buzzed softly. He glanced at the screen, then casually told Alexander, who was standing beside him, “Go
handle it.”
Alexander nodded and turned to leave. Less than ten minutes later, Alexander returned, carrying a digital file–key, which he respectfully handed to Grayson.
Grayson didn’t even spare it a glance. Instead, he simply slid the file across the table, directly in front of me.
“You like rare books?” He quirked an eyebrow, his voice a smooth drawl tinged with lazy indulgence. “I just bought the largest antiquarian rune–publisher in the Golden Dawn Territory. From now on, their entire collection is your private library. Anything you want to see, they’ll air–freight it by Cloud–Pacer directly to you.”
Logan Grant just stared.
I stared at the acquisition contract in front of me, the corner of my mouth twitching. Money and pack–influence talks, huh? Impressive.
Logan Grant took a deep breath, maintaining his elegant smile, and launched his second offensive.
“Isabella, you’ve been back home for quite a while now, and you still haven’t gotten yourself a personal Stryder. I ordered you the latest Silvermoon Stryder DB12, a global limited edition. It’ll arrive by the next full moon.”
He pulled out a sleek key–fob and placed it on the table. The unique winged emblem on it shimmered, an expensive gleam in its polished surface.
Grayson let out a scoff, a sound that cut through the air like a snarl. He didn’t even bother to call Alexander this time. Instead, he pulled out his Howlnet device and dialed directly.
“Hey, it’s me.”
“Send that ‘Valkyrie AMR Pro‘ from my garage to the Grant family estate”
“Yeah, the one custom–built for me by the master–smiths.”
“From now on, it’s Miss Miller’s.”
He hung up the device with a decisive click and then looked at Logan Grant, a blatant challenge in his amber eyes. Limited edition? For him, it was always about one–of–a–kind Alpha builds.
Logan Grant’s practiced smile was starting to falter, barely clinging to his face. I could see it register on Logan Grant’s face. He knew

astronomical.
Was Grayson completely insane? I could almost hear the thought forming in Logan Grant’s mind.
I pressed a hand to my forehead, my temples throbbing. I knew I couldn’t stay silent any longer.
*Stop!”
I said, unable to hold back any longer, cutting off both those childish Alphas.
Grayson and Logan Grant both looked at me, a distinct ‘look how good I am‘ glint in their eyes. I felt a massive headache brewin
I looked at Logan Grant, my voice firm. “Logan Grant, I appreciate your intentions, but these things are too extravagant for our branch. I can’t accept them.”
Then, I turned to Grayson, gritting my teeth. “And you! Do you have pack–credits to burn or something? If you keep squanderir treasury like this, don’t think I won’t cut off all your access–marks!”
Despite my outburst, Grayson didn’t get angry at all. Instead, he just let out a low, rumbling chuckle. His deep–set eyes shimmer with amusement and a deep, possessive affection. His wolf was practically wagging his tail.
His deep eyes, still brimming with pleasure and doting affection, made it clear he loved seeing me fuss over him like this, like a bo little Luna–mate, and I could tell he found it utterly adorable.
“Okay, I’ll do whatever you say,” he conceded easily, his voice impossibly soft, dropping into a tone that only fated mates use.
I noticed Logan Grant watching us, a sour expression on his face, and I could practically feel the jealousy simmering off him. It wa first time I’d seen him look like his cherished little sister, whom he’d meticulously protected for years, was being snatched away by some random Alpha who’d just popped up out of nowhere.
And to make it worse, this “intruder” was annoyingly wealthy, influential, and unfairly handsome. I could almost hear the alarm bel screaming in Logan Grant’s head.
No way! As my cousin, he absolutely couldn’t lose.
Just then, a knock sounded at the private room door. A waiter entered, carrying a beautifully presented dessert.
“This is a special dessert our pack–chef prepared just for you, Ms. Miller,” he announced, ‘Bird’s Nest Ice Cream.”
Both Logan Grant’s and Grayson’s eyes simultaneously landed on the dessert. The next second, they both spoke almost in unison, the Alpha voices booming.
“It’s too cold, change it!”
“She’s near her moon cycle; she can’t have anything iced!”
After they spoke, they exchanged a look, and I could’ve sworn I saw a strange, begrudging kinship in their eyes?
I was speechless. My moon cycle? Since when? I certainly didn’t know about it. Were they seriously just making things up to one–up each other using my biology?
Eventually, thanks to my firm intervention, the dinner finally got back on track. But when dinner ended and we walked out of the private room, the invisible, competitive tension between the two Alphas hadn’t lessened in the slightest.
One insisted on personally driving me back to the Miller den.

The other shot back, “Don’t bother, Logan. She’s my person, my mate, and I’ll take her home myself.”

Caught between them, I felt like the miserable rope in a tug–of–war. I swore I’d never arrange to meet both these men at the same time again!
Hold on, I hadn’t even planned for them to meet at the same time. Grayson was the one who insisted on accompanying me; that’s how they ran into each other! I worried. If I tried to ditch Grayson to secretly go see my cousin Logan, he’d be even more jealous, wouldn’t
he?
Suddenly, I remembered Grayson’s ‘punishment‘ at the villa. I raised my hand and touched my lips, which still felt slightly swollen from his Alpha–claim.
