Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 205

Chapter 205

Rebecca wasn’t going to sit there and wait. At least, she needed to figure out who had taken her.

“What do you want?” she asked, forcing herself to stay calm.

The two men didn’t answer. They just stood guard, never leaving her side.

She could only wait, not daring to ask if they wanted money. Greed might kick in if they realized how much she was worth.

Half an hour later, footsteps came. Another group arrived, dragging two people she knew: Soren and Catherine, both blindfolded.

They had been hauled up the stairs that had no railings. It looked like all three of them had been kidnapped.

Something clicked in her head: this had to be connected to Soren, and they wanted to ask Vance for

ransom.

Vance would definitely come. Even if she wasn’t worth it, he’d come for Catherine.

Soren and Catherine were thrown on the floor beside her.

“Let me go! Whatever you want, name the price!” Catherine screamed.

“Sounds like they are rich. Should we double it?” The man who had brought Catherine laughed wildly.

His partner, Elliott, frowned. “Who is she? Why did you grab her?”

“Vance Bradford’s wife,” replied Malcolm.

“Wait, that’s Vance’s wife?” Elliott pointed at Rebecca. “Then who is this?”

“How would I know?” Malcolm scratched his head. “Where did you pick this one up?”

“From Vance’s place. Has to be his wife.”

“The woman we grabbed is always with him in public. The retirement center news showed her with him, too.”

“Always be with him… Has to be his lover. Rich guys aren’t limited to one woman.”

“Just ask them.” Elliott pointed at the two women. “Which one of you is Vance Bradford’s wife?”

“She is!” Catherine pointed instantly

“This is your daughter?” Elliott asked Soren. “Vance’s wife?”

“Yes, she is. Vance has tons of money, Believe me.” Soren’s clothes were torn, and his face was bruised.

Rebecca stared coldly. This was her father, selling her out for money.

“Did you make the call?” Elliott asked.

“Yeah. Vance is on his way.” Malcolm kicked Catherine. “Who are you to Vance?”

“Don’t complicate things,” Elliott warned.

“I just got played by this woman, Now that I think about it, she’s valuable, too. When I called Vance, she screamed into the phone for help. He freaked out, promising to pay whatever for her safety.”

Elliott gave a cold laugh. “We just want money. Stay out of the rest.”

Malcolm pressed his lips together. “I’m just thinking about which one of them will make Vance pay more.

“Shush! He’s here!” Elliott caught noises from downstairs.

A car pulled up at the building, and Vance stepped out with two large suitcases.

“Damn, the kid really shows up alone. She has got guts.” Elliott smacked his lips.

“I’m here!” Vance shouted from below. “Send someone down to talk!”

“11th floor!” Malcolm shouted back.

Vance picked up the cases and started running up, yelling as he climbed, “Cathy, don’t be scared! I’m

coming!”

Elliott asked Rebecca, “Cathy?”

“No,” she answered evenly.

“She is my daughter. She is Vance’s real wife,” Soren explained.

She gave him a contemptuous look, disgusted by his eagerness to push her forward and make sure they got the ransom.

“This is getting fun,” Malcolm laughed.

“Cathy!” Vance’s voice grew clearer as he climbed up. “Cathy, are you okay? Can you hear me? Let her say something!”
