Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 305

Chapter 305

After hanging up, Vance walked back to the bedside, hesitating. “I-I have to step out for a bit, but I promise I’ll be back.”

Rebecca remained silent. Gabriel, however, gave a mocking smile. “Someone’s missing? Your little

friend?”

Vance’s face darkened. “You’re sticking your nose in places it doesn’t belong.”

Gabriel shrugged. “I have zero interest in your personal drama. Just thinking that any decent man wouldn’t run off to another woman while his wife’s grandmother is fighting for her life.”

“Shut up! You don’t know anything!” Vance snapped.

Turning back to Rebecca, he softened his voice. “Cathy’s missing, and I’m worried that similar things have happened to her.”

Gabriel let out another cold laugh. Vance really hated that attitude, like the man was looking down on him from some superior height.

“What’s so funny?” He gritted his teeth. “In the middle of all this, you can still laugh?”

Gabriel stayed perfectly calm. “Why not? The person I came to save is already safe. The people who matter most to me are right here. Everything is moving in the right direction. Why can’t I laugh?”

“The people who matter most to you?” Vance’s anger boiled over. “Who exactly? Where do you get the nerve to say that?”

Gabriel smiled, slipped an arm around Rebecca’s shoulders, and gently took Josette’s hand. “Right here. These are the people who matter most to me. What about you?”

Vance glared at him. “You’d better conduct yourself, or else—”

“Quiet!” Rebecca cut him off. “We’re in a hospital. Please just leave. Don’t disturb Josette here.”

It was the first time she had spoken to him all day. He turned to her quickly, but all he saw was her cold profile.

He hesitated, “I’ll be back as soon as I find Cathy.”

“Leave already. Nobody cares whether you come back,” Gabriel taunted.

Vance kept his eyes on Rebecca’s face. “You don’t care either? Tell him you don’t care.”

She frowned. “No, I don’t.”

His pupils dilated, and his eyelids twitched violently. He fought to stay calm. “So much has happened lately. Everything’s chaos. Just wait for me to sort it out, okay?”

Gabriel snorted. “In the middle of all this chaos, you somehow figured out that the most important thing

is running after your little friend. Impressive.”

Vance clenched his fists and teeth. “I’m telling you…”

“Don’t bother.” Gabriel waved it off. “Just answer the question. In all this chaos, who matters most to you?”

Vance paused, looking at Rebecca with a pained expression. “You know…”

“She doesn’t know,” Gabriel interrupted again. “You don’t have to answer. The choice is right in front of you. You can walk out that door right now. But if you do that, never show your face in front of her again.”
