Chapter 310
“Exactly,” Catherine echoed. “I don’t want anything. We’ll pretend it never happened. But if you ever need a place like Aiden said, I’ll be right there. You can come whenever you want. I’ll get you food, chat with you, and listen to your worries.”
Vance remained silent. His mind kept replaying Aiden’s words: “What’s done is done.”
He didn’t know how he left the apartment. Once he was gone, the two exchanged a quick look, and both
exhaled in relief.
Vance didn’t go to the office or back to the hospital. He drove aimlessly and ended up at his home.
His clothes still reeked of alcohol. He stripped them off and threw them straight into the trash. Then he climbed into the bathtub and closed his eyes.
He stayed in the tub for over an hour before his phone, charging on the counter, rang and jerked him out.
It was Aiden, calling about a meeting at the company, but he had zero energy.

“It’s not that,” Vance said frankly. “The responsibility is mine. I won’t let her bear the consequences of my
mistake.”
“I know. You just haven’t figured out how to be responsible for two women yet,” Aiden said. “It’s simple: give them what they want. Unlike Rebecca, Cathy doesn’t ask for much. Think about it.”

smiling at him.
He took a deep breath and finally knew what he had to do. He needed to go back to the hospital and
check on Josette.
At the hospital, Gabriel was communicating with Hugo.
Hugo: [Last night, after we dumped the woman on the roadside, Aiden Hodge picked her up and drove her to her apartment. Vance arrived later and stayed with them for the night. He left in the morning, followed by Aiden an hour later.]
Gabriel: [Keep watching.]
