Chapter 336
The lady was frustrated. “Makes sense.”
Another lady suddenly had an idea. “So many girls chased after him, and he ignored them all. He only has a good relationship with you. Could it be that…”
“Be honest with us. Does he like you?”
“Well…” Catherine paused deliberately. “There was indeed a little something back then, but you know, I was eager to come back, while his focus was in Europe, so… He actually sent me a lot of emails later on, but I didn’t reply. If there was no future, I couldn’t string him along.”
“I heard that he is still single. Because he can’t get over you?”
“My goodness! This kind of unrequited love, where one would rather stay single for life? I’ve only seen that in novels.”
It was getting too far-fetched, and someone burst out laughing.
Gabriel laughed, not at Catherine’s words, but because Rebecca was silently mimicking every line with her lips.
It was hilarious, and he couldn’t hold it in. Rebecca grinned, and Isabelle joined in.
Catherine felt embarrassed. Her eyes quickly locked onto Gabriel. “What are you laughing at?”
A loser like him had the nerve to mock her?
He was undaunted. “Excuse me, which university did you attend? How could you be classmates with Mr.
Rossi Jr.?”
Catherine regretted not checking his background before coming here. What if she made up a school that didn’t match? But she couldn’t back down now.
She glared. “What does it have to do with you?”
“Nothing much. Just wanted to admire the school,” he replied, holding back his amusement.
“Who do you think you are?” she sneered. “The students there are all royal members. Someone of your status could never get in.”
“Good to know.” He maintained a humble smile.
Just then, some ladies suggested, “Hey, let’s go get some drinks.”
“Catherine, are you coming with us?”
“Okay.”
Catherine shot a disdainful look at Rebecca and the others, walked past them, and headed to the

beverage area.
Isabelle was indignant. “What a joke! Mr. Perry, you have way too much self-control. I would’ve slapped her directly.”
Gabriel sipped his wine. “I will.”
That slap was definitely coming.
The group walked away, but their conversation continued.
“Now that Mr. Rossi Jr. has come to Soliaridge to start a company, doesn’t that mean you have a chance to get back together?”
“Exactly! You separated because of the distance, and now he has chased you all the way to Soliaridge. Don’t let this chance slip away.”
Rebecca convulsed with laughter, almost falling over. Gabriel quickly steadied her.
Isabelle and Sonia were both puzzled. “Is it that funny?”
“Don’t you find it funny?” she asked back.
“Yep,” Isabelle said. “She is daydreaming.”
Catherine’s voice drifted over. “That’s not cool. I’m with Vance now.”
“What if he pursues you again? He spent a fortune to start a company here for you.”
“Well, about that, we’ll see.”
