Sonia gave a half-smile, enjoying the spectacle as well, but Vance was overwhelmed by the shock.

His head buzzed, and the word “finished” echoed through his mind. This time, it was truly over. The deal was off the table.

He looked at Rebecca across the room, remembering Aiden’s past words: “Every single deal falls through because of Rebecca.”

This was the third time. Without her, it would have been secured.

Someone nearby whispered, “Isn’t that Mrs. Bradford up there? She hardly ever shows her face. How come she’s standing next to Mr. Rossi tonight?”

Gabriel paused briefly, but the ballroom had already exploded into a storm of speculation.

He continued smoothly, “There is an unknown fact. My mother is a Perry, and the lady beside me is my cousin.”

Rebecca smiled gracefully and gave a small nod to the crowd. Her excellent posture and natural elegance turned that simple gesture into something captivating.

Thunderous applause followed-for her or her status. That night, she was undeniably the most radiant presence in the room.

Holding her hand, Gabriel delivered an enthusiastic welcome speech, but Vance could no longer hear anything. His mind was in turmoil.

One of the ladies, who had been gossiping about the necklace earlier, exclaimed, “Oh my God! The necklace she’s wearing… That’s the one from yesterday’s auction! One of its kind in the world, valued at 40 million dollars!”

Another echoed, “Jesus, they must have flown it back overnight. Mr. Rossi really spoils his cousin rotten!

Catherine stared at the massive ruby resting on Rebecca’s neck, her eyes blazing with jealousy.

Isabelle laughed out loud. “Who was running their mouth earlier, calling that thing glass and tarnished metal? Their faces must be swollen now.”

Sonia also laughed, but Lucas remained clueless. “Who said it was glass?”

Catherine’s face twisted with rage. Aiden figured out the situation at once and yanked Lucas back, hissing, “Shut your mouth.”

Vance felt bitter, having said the same thing about that necklace.

The women who had mocked Rebecca alongside Catherine were struck dumb. That necklace was worth 40 million dollars?
