Chapter 352
Since the matter had been taken care of, Rebecca didn’t dwell on it.
Gabriel told the driver to start the car, then turned to her. “Get some good sleep tonight. You still have something important tomorrow, right? I’ll go with you.”
She nodded, thinking it would be good to have him there. That way, Vance couldn’t pull any last-minute
stunt.
Their five years of marriage were finally ending.
After getting simple treatment at the hospital, Aiden and Catherine went to Catherine’s place. Their injuries weren’t serious. There was no internal bleeding or broken bones, but they looked terrible.
The men in black had focused almost entirely on their faces, so while the rest of their bodies ached, the worst damage was the swelling.
“Damn! Those guys were definitely sent by Rossi!” Aiden dropped onto the sofa, his whole body throbbing. “Professional work. Hurts like hell but leaves almost no visible marks.”
There was nothing they could do. In the darkness, they hadn’t seen the attackers’ faces clearly, and the whole thing had happened so fast they hadn’t even caught the license plates.
And they had no way to access traffic camera footage if they didn’t involve the police.
Catherine opened her phone to check the trending topics and found them flooded with hate. Her social media accounts hadn’t been spared, filled with vicious insults.
She was flustered. “What should I do? Everyone’s cursing me. How am I ever going to show my face again?”
Then she noticed the residents’ group chat had over 99 new messages. She checked them out, only to discover they were all talking about her.
Someone had shared the trending link.
[Look, isn’t this homewrecker from our complex?]
[It’s her! She argued with me in the elevator. I won’t be mistaken.”
[The one right above yours. Didn’t you know?]
[Oh my God! How can someone have the nerve to be a mistress? Shameless!]
[No wonder she is always so arrogant and sarcastic. Next time she argues with me, I’m going to slap her silly. Disgusting!]
Catherine threw her phone across the room, unable to take it. She then suddenly remembered how the security guards had been whispering when she had entered the complex. They must have been talking about her, too.

“What do I do?” she cried out, burying her face in her hands. “People online and offline are all cursing me, and all the big shots at the banquet must be despising me. There is no way out.”
Aiden hissed in pain. “You lost your head and sent those messages to Rebecca. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have had anything to hit back with tonight. Whether there was surveillance, Gabriel wouldn’t have dared release it publicly. If those powerful people and elites knew the dinner could be recorded and exposed, he wouldn’t be able to survive in Soliaridge.”
“What’s the point of saying that now? The damage is already done,” Catherine grumbled.
Aiden thought for a moment. “I’ve got an idea.”
“What?”
“Call Vance. He’s supposed to divorce Rebecca tomorrow. Have him issue a statement, saying the divorce is already finalized and he’s single. That way, he won’t be considered a cheater, and you won’t be labeled as a mistress.”
