Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 357

Chapter 357

The group came and went quickly. In the blink of an eye, Vance was left alone, standing by the garbage

bin.

Nothing came out of his mouth while his stomach churned violently.

The garage cleaner came out, saw the mess, and started cursing. “You dress like a decent person, but you do things like this? What kind of person plays with garbage? You are the garbage! Why don’t you throw yourself away!”

She deliberately poked his foot with her broom while sweeping. Vance couldn’t explain himself while fighting the urge to vomit.

He snatched the broom. “I’m sorry… Ugh… Ma’am… I’ll clean it… Ugh…”

“Clean it properly and wash the floor too!” the cleaner huffed.

In a hidden corner behind a nearby wall, the attackers exchanged glances and walked away. They had originally planned to clean up the garbage after Vance left, but since he insisted on doing it, they figured they might as well let him.

He belonged with garbage anyway.

Vance couldn’t go to the office looking like that. After cleaning up, he drove straight home, took a shower, and sat blankly in a chair-the same chair Rebecca used to sit in all the time.

She would sit here watching dramas, reading books, and probably studying French.

On the desk were some of the things she had used. The pens were in the holder, and several art history books were lying there.

He pulled open a drawer and saw more books. He took one out and saw it was a practice book.

As far as he remembered, her French hadn’t been very good, She was an art student, and in his memory, her high school grades had been average.

The last time he had flipped through her practice book, her answers had been a mess.

He opened it casually and was stunned. The reading score had reached 7. He looked closer and found that she had noted the date for every practice test.

Most were from the first half of this year, and she had done quite well. The highest score was an 8. Most

scores hovered around 6.5.

Then, at the very bottom of the drawer, he found an envelope containing her French Proficiency Test

results.

Inside were five or six score reports. They started at 5 and ended with several 6s in the final attempts.

“Why did she take the exam so many times?” he wondered with a frown.

Even if she wanted to travel abroad or watch performances, she didn’t need scores for that.

A notebook caught his eye. He opened it and saw the title: [Countdown to Leaving Vance Bradford.]

Day 25 of the countdown: [He gave our rings to someone else. But at this point, I don’t even want him anymore.]

His eyes stung sharply. So, from that point, she had planned to divorce him.

Her claims each time had been serious, not a tactic to keep him or drive Catherine away. She had genuinely wanted to leave him.

Further on, she had recorded every little thing that had happened in the 20-plus days before she went to Europe-things that had seemed trivial to him at the time.

With each passing day, her heart seemed to die a little more.

He lowered his head and rested his forehead on the notebook. His eyes burned with unshed tears.

If he had stood in her shoes and thought about her feelings even for one day, he might still have had a chance to save their marriage.

But he hadn’t. He had walked down the wrong path until he had destroyed everything between them. He had thought she would never leave him or this place, so he had protected Catherine again and again.
