Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 362

Chapter 362

The other shareholders were shocked. “Divorce? Share transfer?”

Rebecca had only attended two board meetings in total. One was when she and Vance got married, and the other was when they got divorced.

They had all seen the stock plunging and knew about the scandal blowing up online, but they were still shocked by the news.

One of them spoke up. “Mr. Bradford, at this critical moment, shouldn’t you think twice?”

“This decision was made after careful consideration,” Rebecca said seriously.

“The stock has been fluctuating wildly, largely due to recent public opinion,” the shareholder reasoned. Would you and Mrs. Bradford consider issuing a joint statement? Just put on a show for the investors. Show them a harmonious couple with no scandals, that everything was just made up.”

Silent, Rebecca turned to Vance, her meaning crystal clear.

Vance averted his gaze, his voice hoarse. “There’s no need.”

“Mr. Bradford…” the shareholder tried again.

“Marriage is a private matter. Even if it affected the stock price, that’s my problem, having nothing to do with her.” Vance waved his hand. “In this incident, she is a victim. I’m sorry that my personal actions have caused losses to the company. What I can do now is focus on future development, make the right decisions, and work hard instead of blaming others.”

Aiden chimed in, “Business has its ups and downs. We have weathered many storms. Are we really afraid of this little turbulence? We don’t need any shows.”

Lucas was a bit lost about all the recent dramas, but he stood firmly with his friends.

Since the three decision-makers had expressed their opinions, the shareholders had nothing more to say. The transfer was smoothly approved by the board, and only some paperwork remained.

“When would it be convenient for you to handle the formalities?” Rebecca stood up. “If we can do it now, let’s finish it quickly. No need to drag it out.”

Vance looked around the conference room. He had held countless meetings here over the years, but

none had ever felt as depressing and desolate as this one.

The other shareholders stood up and left one after another. Lucas lingered, standing in front of them. Finally, he sighed, patted Vance on the shoulder, and walked out.

Rebecca waited for his answer, all serious. It would be good if they could handle the paperwork immediately.

Vance gave a bitter smile. “You really don’t want to see me at all? You won’t even give me one extra day?”

“I don’t,” she confirmed, not yielding an inch.

Since they were divorcing, she wanted it clean and final.

“Even if you don’t want to, it’s too late now,” he sighed. “We’ll do it another day. I’ll contact you then.”

She turned and left without another word. Her decisiveness made him smile bitterly once again.

This wasn’t the woman he knew anymore. The shy, gentle girl who used to smile at him had disappeared overnight, blown away by the winds of time.

The one in front of him now was a hard, unpolished stone. She was full of sharp edges that could cut him if he wasn’t careful.

Rebecca reached the elevator and pressed the button. When the doors opened, she saw him following her and frowned.

“What now?”

“It’s my company’s elevator, I can ride it too, can’t I?” he joked, though he felt how awkward it sounded.
