Five Years of Marriage to Mr. Bradford (by Koi Fish) novel Chapter 365

Chapter 365

Rebecca commented on Jenny’s post: [It was a wonderful evening.]

She then headed downstairs to find Gabriel, hoping to figure out what he and Desmond were discussing.

Gabriel entered and found her waiting in the living room. He smiled knowingly. “I knew you’d ask. Have a

seat.”

Rebecca settled onto the sofa, wearing soft slippers. As she sat down, Gabriel’s gaze fell to her ankle.

“What’s wrong?” she asked, realizing that was where her old injury was.

For five years, she had grown accustomed to hiding it, disliking the attention it drew. Even now, having come out of the shadows, she instinctively shrank.

But Gabriel walked over, squatted in front of her, and gently lifted her injured foot.

“What?” She blinked, unsure of his intentions.

“Is this here?” He pressed lightly on the area of permanent damage.

It was the root cause that she could no longer dance.

She nodded, and he slipped her slipper back on. “The Schroeder kid tried to curry favor with me earlier. Do you understand his intentions?”

She hadn’t thought much of it before, but now that she reflected, something did feel off.

She frowned, and he spoke in a serious, almost elder-like tone. “You just crawled out of a quagmire, so don’t rush into things. The only one who can heal you is yourself, not another relationship. Life is long, and we can take our time.”

She understood his meaning. “I get it.”

For now, she had no romantic feelings for Desmond, nor did she have any plans to dive into another

relationship.

“Aren’t you going to the clinic tomorrow to check your leg?” he asked. “I’ll go with you.”

She did plan to go. During the past month abroad, she had kept up with rehabilitation and felt stronger, though she wondered if it was just psychological.

But she hadn’t planned to have him accompany her. “You’re so busy. You don’t have to come with me.”

“I’m good. Hugo is the one with a packed schedule. I should reward him.” He thought for a moment and added, “By the way, Desmond and Helia left their gift in the yard. Wanna take a look?”

Rebecca wondered what kind of grand gift needed to be placed in the yard. She followed him outside and saw a sculpture of her mid-dance pose.

They had commissioned someone to carve it.

“It needs a base. I’ll have one custom-made and place it in the yard. What do you think?” Gabriel said.

She nodded, not sure if she could ever be able to perform that pose with such perfection again.

When she returned to her room, her phone kept lighting up with incoming messages. She picked it up before seeing several missed calls and a string of messages-all from Vance.

The notifications were also in double digits.

She checked Jenny’s post once again. The comment section had turned into a battleground between

Vance and Obadiah.

Obadiah: [Congrats to Rebecca on finally saying goodbye to the scumbag and starting a beautiful new life.]

Vance: [Who are you calling a scumbag?]

Obadiah: [You. What about it?]

Vance: [Just wait! You bastard!]
