Vance: [Send your location!]

Obadiah: [Come get me!]

It had turned into an endless loop.

Rebecca could imagine Vance’s fury behind his phone, but this was just childish. She checked his messages and found them ridiculous.

[Did you really throw a party tonight?]

[Are you so happy about the divorce? Have you been waiting for this day?]

He had even sent her the photo.

[Look at yourself. You’re smiling so brightly. Did you ever smile like that when you were with me?]

[No wonder you were in such a hurry to divorce. You had been planning it forever.]

[It’s because of Schroeder, right? When did you two start hooking up?]

[From the first time you mentioned divorce? When he sent you flowers?]

Vance was beyond reason. What right did he have to question her? As for the flowers, she had no memory of them at all.

Rebecca: [Desmond and I are just friends.]

She didn’t want to cause Desmond unnecessary trouble, but her reply seemed to trigger something. Vance’s messages started bombarding her again.

[Friends? You had a husband and a home. What kind of friend sends you flowers in that situation?]

[Would a normal friend take you on an international performance tour?]

[Would a normal friend go through all the trouble to find doctors to treat your leg?]

[Would a normal friend accompany you for rehabilitation every day?] (2)

His accusations were ridiculous.

She typed back quickly: [Yes, why would normal friends do all these things for me? Is it because I didn’t have a husband?]

Finally, he went quiet.

But Rebecca wasn’t finished. She kept typing and sent another message: [I wonder who my husband’s normal friend was and what they were doing together? Got the answer, my ex?]

She added: [Let’s just block each other. For future share transfers and property division matters, Gabriel’s lawyer will contact you.]

Without hesitation, she blocked him on social media and put his number on the blacklist. She hoped this kind of meaningless conversation would never happen again.

She took a shower and went to bed.

The next morning after breakfast, Gabriel accompanied her to the clinic. Rebecca brought Josette along, hoping the doctor could figure out a way to accelerate her recovery.

At the clinic, Rebecca asked the doctor to check on Josette first. Since the old lady was still weak, Edwin suggested avoiding heavy tonics.

He didn’t prescribe medicine but recommended nutritional supplements suitable for her current condition and advised her to do more gentle exercise.

Josette reassured them, “I told you I’m fine. You worry too much.”

How could they not worry? Josette was the most important person to Rebecca.

When she was little, Josette took care of her. Now that she had grown up, she would take care of Josette and keep her company in her later years.

She would not let anything happen to Josette.

Afterward, Edwin examined Rebecca’s leg. He confirmed that she had made some progress in the past month, but it was small. At this rate, no one knew what the outcome would be.

Gabriel and Josette both frowned at the news, but Rebecca wasn’t bothered.

“It’s okay,” she said lightly. “I’m already used to it. It doesn’t affect my daily life, and dancing isn’t my whole world. I can do many other things.”
