When they were leaving the clinic, Gabriel asked Rebecca and Josette to wait in the car.

He went back inside to speak with the doctor. About 20 minutes later, he came out with a smile.

“I discussed the treatment plan with Dr. Jefferson again,” he explained. “We still have one month in Soliaridge, right? We’ll come for therapy every day and do rehabilitation here. Let’s see how it goes.”

Rebecca didn’t have much confidence, but when she saw their hopeful expressions, she couldn’t bear to disappoint them, especially Josette.

“Okay,” she agreed.

From then on, her life became very routine. She basically went back and forth between the clinic and home every day.

One week later, Gabriel told her it was time to go through the formal share transfer with Vance.

He accompanied her to the company, not telling her one fact. If his lawyer hadn’t kept pressing, Vance would have tried to delay it even longer.

The process was simple. Gabriel had already reviewed all the documents and agreements. She only needed to go and sign.

She showed up, signed the papers, and was gone in almost no time. She barely spoke; Gabriel handled

most of the conversation for her.

The moment the formalities were done, she turned to leave. Vance chased after her but nearly ran into

someone.

He looked up and saw Gabriel standing between them. He looked dejected. “Gabriel…”

“Don’t call me that. We’re not so close.” Gabriel shut him down. “Transfer the money to Rebecca’s account within the agreed time. For anything else, contact my lawyer.”

Seeing that Rebecca was about to go downstairs, Vance said desperately, “We’re not officially divorced yet. There’s still the 30-day cooling-off period. I can change my mind anytime.”

“That’s fine.” Gabriel shrugged. “We can afford to wait. Let’s see if you can afford the time.”

Vance’s expression shifted. “You wouldn’t be so despicable as to suppress me in the business world, would you?”

Gabriel smirked. “Wrong choice of words, Mr. Bradford. In business, it’s called competition, not suppression.”

Vance froze in place, not coming to his senses even after Gabriel left. He suddenly realized something: once the transfer was done, there would be no more connection between Rebecca and him.

In 30 days, or rather, there weren’t even 30 days left now… The day they collected the divorce certificate

might very well be the last time they ever saw each other.

A sudden, heavy pain struck his chest. He ran downstairs and saw Gabriel’s car still parked by the roadside.

He sprinted over and pounded on the window. Gabriel looked at him coldly as he shouted, “Wait! I have something to say!”

Gabriel lowered the window, silently warning him against playing tricks.

But Vance had nothing substantial to say. He racked his brain and finally blurted out, “Rebecca, what about your parents and your brother? How do you plan to handle them?”

It was the only thing he could think of. He knew it was pointless; Gabriel definitely wouldn’t let them off.

In fact, he had heard that Gabriel was suing them for abuse.

“I mean, Emmett’s company still has some dealings with mine. Tell me what you want done. I’ll listen to you.” He breathed hard. “Emmett didn’t directly participate in the abuse. How should he be handled?”

Both Gabriel and Rebecca looked at him like he was an idiot. Finally, he let go of the window in defeat.
